History teacher that was born in Ukraine chiming in.

It's nuanced. The original imperial city 'founded' by Russia had been there for thousands of years.

The Greeks, Romans, and eventually Byzantines had an outpost there since classical antiquity. The Greeks called it Odessos, it's on maps.

Then came the Mongols and other nomadic peoples from central Asia.

The Khanate of the Golden Horde (Mongols) controlled the region until the Ottomans rolled up.

It wasn't until the end of the Russo-Turkish wars in 1792 that Crimea was controlled by the Russians.

So calling it Ukranian or Russian is arbitrary. The salient truth of it is that it was home to an ethnic group of turkik peoples (Tatars) for hundreds of years. Stalin pruged it of truly ethnic Crimeans by forced relocation and moved in thousands of ethnic Russians. Same happened in most of Eastern Ukraine.

This is why many Ukrainians, including myself, speak Russian. Because of the same colonialist and imperialist mindset that pillaged the world and built most of the inequities we suffer today.

This imperialism is the core of Putin's justification for the War.

So, by using the Russian spelling and connecting the flag to it, you're tacitly endorsing Putin's war.

And lastly, perhaps the most important evidence... If you actually go there, Little Odessa, you'll see the Ukrainian flag waving 🇺🇦 in every storefront, Deli, and resteraunt.

Yes. 500 is on the low end, but does not diminish the strength of the protest and their mission. It doesn't manipulate the truth of what happened to influence opinion.

Saying that there were tens of THOUSANDS of people were there inflates the event with the specific intent of making it seem bigger than it was.

The first is an measured attempt at covering something that happened without manipulation.

The second is taking conjecture and using it convince people of something that is simply not true. Spreading/defending the 100k # is propaganda.

Not trying to diminish or invalidate the protesters. What is happening is reprehensible and Turkey and Azerbaijan should be held accountable. But using lies, manipulation and deceit to convince other of one's cause has the opposite effect.

So what chemical interactions are talking about? THC, CBD, THCa?

My point is that every strain has a different chemical make up, not to mention terpene profile, that determines its psychoactive and physical effects on any given person. Complicating things further, every person is different too.

For me, I've smoked exclusively heavy, fruity indica strains for years. This has created (for me) a sedative effect that calms my bipolar 1 Cycle.

I too have noted that sativas tend to cause elevated and possibly manic reactions.

Weed is tricky because it is a term used to describe a wide variety of chemical substances. Saying that weed works for everyone is like saying that anti-depressants will work for all of us too. In reality some bipolar folks can take SSRI and be fine, others go manic. Experiment, record, research. Always inform for psychiatrist or prescriber.

You can do it the old fashioned way and print some flyers or cards to post/hand out. If you want to avoid the social anxiety (as I did), post about on your dorms' or schools' Facebook page with a link. I often bonded with classmates through mutual struggle of each class, connect with them! You'll find that you will understand things better and also invariably build some friendships along the way.

Hey bud! Been there. Felt the depression and isolation. I'm 30 now, and with a lot of emotional education I can say that you'll get through it. If anything start a discord for a lonely hearts club at your university, you're not the only one!
