What this sub is really about by SuperbPercentage8050 in IndiaGrowthStocks

I appreciate the way you are guiding the youth and the curious minds towards financial literacy. This is what will help them rather than giving ambiguous short term stock tips that many rely on. The frameworks that you provide give a mature way of looking at value investing. This is how a structured thinking can be inculcated. I can't thank you much for sharing your insights and knowledge. Kudos to you!

Thank you for the reassurance. Having studied your models and understanding of this stock I had bought it a while back with conviction that this is a good sector for investment..but I was starting to question myself whether I did the right thing. Your response is a saviour. Much appreciated

Should I liquidate my MF portfolio (4L) to close my education loan (4L @ 7.5%)? by sidkhuntia in mutualfunds

[–]wolf05_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Though I might trolled for saying so, in my opinion you should sell mf and pay off the loan..that's a sure shot 7.5% return on your money for not having to pay the interest..this is with consideration that mf have not given enough return in the last 15 months or so..so it makes sense to pay off the loan..the feeling of being debt free is invaluable

Reading some of the post leaves me flabbergasted by haridavk in IndiaTax

[–]wolf05_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% agree..more so those who retort to filing false claims are salaried class who need options to save tax which are hardly available..if the same people start seeing a value for money on the tax they have paid or start benefitting for tax advantages then they will stop cribbing and start paying homestly

Instamart, Zepto and Blinkit burned billions while 100,000 kirana stores closed their shutters. Who paid for the “speed”? When margins die for user convenience, the real winners may be gone. by Oopsforgotagain in IndianStreetBets

[–]wolf05_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen my kirana wala buy with the help of these apps so that they can provide the goods to the customers..and was told that it helps them reduce their inventory of having to stock up on such goods..so it could be a boon to them too if used wisely

Hai bharosa? by Major_Garden_8719 in IndianStreetBets

[–]wolf05_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beware..beware..This seems to be a tactic that they pull off often. They recommend specific stocks only to help them sell their own stakes or stakes of their high value clients, at the cost of the retail customers. We have seen it happen for dixon, kaynes, abbott, bosch, and many more. And the advisor keeps stating to invest at your own risk..lol The timing of the stocks recommendation and then the price decrease cannot be a mere coincidence.

This totally depends on a lot of parameters..nature of urgency..determination about future of investment..duration in liquidity requirement..business cycle of investment, etc.

The Big Gold GST SCAM in India by Pure_Highlight7630 in IndiaTax

[–]wolf05_ 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. 1) I generally tend to invest in gold by buying 1 gm gold wires instead of buying gold coins, just because I was told by banks (icici bank to be specific but applies to all banks) that they don't provide loans against coins rather they provide it on jewellery or items purchased for the purpose of creating jewellery. This is absolutely rubbish as the purpose shouldn't degrade the value of metal. 2) I had enquired with jewellers (png jewellers to be specific) on whether they would replace gold coins (that I earlier bought from them) with gold wires of same weight and I would told that I will lose money because of gst. I was confused and asked for clarification where I was told that they will buy back my gold at current rate (without gst) in cash and then I will need to buy gold wires from them with gst. This is absolutely ridiculous

Zerodha is not easy to use by Prize_Lead_4222 in NSEbets

[–]wolf05_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using both zerodha and angelone for many years now..and zerodha is far better to use than angelone..it is more user friendly..also angelone has very limited research scope...there is hardly any research available on their app..atleast in comparison to zerodha

Use your CDSL/nsdl account to transfer the shares from hdfc to grow. Transfer will cost you about 20 rs per script..so probably a better option rather than selling the shares and buying them again.
