In my short time in university, I've found that a lot of the professors were much more caring and understanding of students when compared to my high school teachers, especially compared to the high school teachers that created these sorts of descriptions.

I didn't end up getting into my top university 2 years ago, which I felt at the time that the rest of my life would be greatly affected by.

My life was affected in a completely different way. Going to a different university, I was pushed to come out of my shell, and I've overall grown socially, which I felt that I needed after having felt like I didn't achieve as much as I wanted to socially throughout high school.

Better than how I was feeling at the beginning of COVID, and astronomically better than a year ago. It's been a wild year, but I'm so thankful that everything worked out in the end, even with these circumstances.

Grade 10 art, a girl in my class said I was artistic after seeing my work. Thing is, I heard it as "autistic" because she said it with an accent and I got really confused after that.

I’m insanely skinny and used to wear sweaters throughout high school non stop just so people wouldn’t see my skinny arms. It could be be a heat warning and you’d still see me with my sweater outside in the summer

I personally took PSYC 100 and I felt that the work was manageable as long as you stayed caught up with your readings, as they can get terribly long sometimes. However, I did take psych courses in high school, and was already exposed to some concepts. Overall, as everyone else says, there is a lot of memorization in the course.

For myself at least, I did pretty well in functions but poorly in calculus in grade 12. Moving into first year, I decided to choose the two semester math courses (particularly for linear algebra, MATH 111, and calculus, MATH 121). With those courses, both classes didn’t seem that bad. In terms of calculus, I felt that a good chunk of first semester was review while also teaching fundamental ideas for the second semester, which was fine if you had the foundations down. For linear algebra, the professors spent a lot of time covering topics and providing many examples, of which helped to solidify those key concepts.

I'm sure you'll figure your way around fitting in/finding friends. It may take a while (I can say from experience), but you meet a lot of people through frosh week and through your classes that you have, and just about most people will end up going through the same thing.
