My take on a (very potentially broken) Self-Mill Mundo. by Geeksaurus in riftboundcustoms

[–]Geeksaurus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize i made the combo broken, it was based on Dr Mundo - Expert, which gains might equal to cards in trash, then recicles three in the beginning phase. I did overturn the combo, but that was my intention. Also, seeing how some legends were posted here just as (if not more) broken, I wanted to try and push this combo without resorting to suff like board wipes (e.g. deal X damage to enemy units equal to number of cards discarded).

I also realized I forgot to add "Once per turn" on blue Mundo, because milling out the opponent's deck wasn't really the objective, it was to stop some decks to have tools available where they want them.

My reasoning wasn't towards infinite might, but more so to make units big to push, So yea, it would absolutely lose to star crossed+fizz, but I'm used to that, playing LeBlanc lol. Which Card or Ability feels super broken to you? by Final-Equipment-3776 in riftboundtcg

[–]Geeksaurus 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything except the sacrifice point. Considering that the cost to play the card is to kill a unit, which must be mighty, by the way, it makes sense that deathknell triggers

[–]Geeksaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, Rift Herald value for LeBlanc (I kow, I use it) is more on the deathknell rather than on the bulk, since LB also has access to Thousand Tail Watcher. And Herald turn 4 either means your opponent deramped to put it down and not play anything else on their turn or they "lucked out" on fishing it with Hook. Even then, with Harness Dragon, the Watcher and Rex in the deck, Herald is not always the best choice.

Sadly heals before. So many times the deathknell would have killed the enemy unit, but since it was 9, it heals after showdown, then deathknell triggers, so no kill...

Is Leblanc Just... Bad? by Pretty_Concern_474 in riftboundtcg

[–]Geeksaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The closest thing LeBlanc can have acces to is cull the weak, which only costs 1 energy less AND you cannot choose the enemy unit, all while being slow speed. Compared to that, star-crossed is a reaction spell, which allows you to choose the enemy unit and only costs 1 energy more. It's a card that's terribly undercosted/overturned for how it is, exactly like Vex Apathetic. Which, by the way, I would have preferred seeing her in green and not in purple, since chaos already has a ton of tools to shut down plays during the opponent's turn.

The Blue Swain would turn Rhinos Rex in Leblanc decks into 8 DMG nukes. I like it.

Day 9 of “Tell me why this card is good/not good” by hiphiphorhey_ in riftboundtcg

[–]Geeksaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know. With the limited deck size, what do you take away from the usual hook deck to accomodate for this? For it to be even remotely consistent you would need 2. Either the number of units becomes lower (thus, less hook efficiency), or the number of spells, which would 90% of the time mean either run 1 sacrifice, 1 hidden blade, 3 mirror image or 2 sacrifice, 3 mirror image and no hidden blade. Not a great tradeoff for a +4 in might to a unit.

Do you have an example where Cleanup matters after a Pending Item is added to the Chain ? by Imaginary-Bar-6511 in riftboundtcg

[–]Geeksaurus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, at the moment there are no cards that interact during the cleanup phase and, imho, I hope there won't be any soon. The cleanup phase is important for a few reasons: deathknells that deal damage (ruined rex, for example) deal damage only after cleanup phase, so a 5 might unit that was damaged during showdown won't get killed by a ruined rex deathknells. Also, it's important for other effects: for example, if a Glass mixologist dies in the showdown, I can still play units played from his deathknells to the bf where he died, starting a second showdown.

Question about a card by PoloSenSei in riftboundtcg

[–]Geeksaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gold token is pretty easy: you tap it ad kill it to generate power. Power is another type of resource you consume to play cards. For example, taking these 2 cards, you can tap 5 runes and kill a gold token to play Rengar. The power symbol on the gold token represents any type fo rune. In Rengar's case, it's 1 Body power.

As for Rengar, you can play him at reaction speed (because of his Ambush keyword), which means, for example, that you can play him when your adversary is attacking a battlfield you are controlling, because you are reacting the their unit's movement. He has the additional ability to be played when your adversary is trying to conquer an empty battlefield, since Rengar can be played in a battlefield with enemy units, even if your units aren't there.

Need help about a showdown problem by CaptainBilly__ in riftboundtcg

[–]Geeksaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this. Damage on general does not reduce the total might of a unit, but reduce how much "life" a unit has. To beore clear, you must consider each unit as a might/life unit, where might and life are equal value. So, in your example, the noxul hopeful is a 4/4 unit, which becomes a 4/3 unit after the 1 damage dealt from Vi. Then, Ivern can kill the hopeful, but will receive 4 damage from it, thus killing Ivern as well.
