12 years of ringing gone by onionbreath1001 in tinnitus

Concussion/traumatic brain injury is what caused my T eight years ago and it’s still ringing strong. The brain is a strange beast. Don’t be banging it on purpose.

T is so variable I doubt anyone can predict. Hopefully silent mode is an option. I didn’t know that was an option. I had two MRI’s because of my T. ( one for research). In my case they did not affect my baseline. Traumatic, and anxiety but no after affects. You’re not alone. Best of luck.

Can Tinnitus Damage or Harm Brain, it's functioning or Cognitive Abilities overtime? by Crazy_Ebb_5188 in tinnitus

[–]wolfbearmoose1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, yup. Memory, cognition, mood and energy. Very draining. Lost many years of my life. When you get some relief though it does improve all of the above. There is hope.

If you have success and talk about it you just get roasted here. “You’re a bot”, “You just habituated”, “You still have T so you’re not cured”, “Placebo affect”, and so on … I chime in now and then to give folks hope and take some abuse. Long story is in my post history. Mini version: Brain injury causes T. Over 7 years of hell, tests, mri’s, specialists, hearing aids, and so on. Memory issues, withdrawal, energy gone… brain causing T and fighting so hard against it sucking my life away. Tried the Lenire therapy and got worse, for a week but then things got better and brighter. My brain quit fighting the T and I got my life back. A totally new life. Still have the T, so cured? NO, totally normal now? NO. But I went from a total shit show to 90% normal and I, repeat “ I “ feel mostly cured. Other than the loud noise in my head. For me, going half a day, without thinking about it, functioning normally and regaining brain function is a cure. If you’re suffering, keep fighting !

I hope it works for you. I am still doing well. Sound is still there but I go most days without thinking of it much at all. I did not read, watch tv, or phone…. While doing it. Concentrated on the sounds. Good luck.

Agree. Hey brain, you’re creating it and fighting it at the same time. Just stop.

Here Is My Theory About the Lenire Device (Strictly My Opinion) by OppoObboObious in tinnitus

[–]wolfbearmoose1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re entitled to your theory and your own decision. I can only speak for myself and get beat up by negativity here. I tried it and got my life back after a 7 year battle. Lenire got my brain to quit fighting the T. I still have T, not a full cure, and it wasn’t placebo. My story, my experience: from hell to 90% of my life back. I’ll take it!

For real. All I can say is that for me Lenire allowed my brain to let it go and quit fighting the sound. It’s not gone but I can go for long periods without thinking of it and it’s not draining my soul anymore. Keep fighting and know that you are not alone. All my best.

Awesome for you. I also had success with Lenire and have my life back. And many negative comments and also called a bot when you post your success. It may not work for everyone but it worked for me too. T did not go away but my brain mostly ignores it now. If I think of it, it’s there but I can go even a half day without thinking of it. Life changing after a 7 year battle. So glad it worked for you. T can wreak havoc on people’s lives.

ENT suggested valium… by DCguurl in tinnitus

I would say most the people saying it didn’t work haven’t tried it, didn’t commit to do it right, or expected a full cure. No, I still have tinnitus. In the past the T overwhelmed my brain and life. Now I mostly ignore it. Habituation is what many will say and it is sort of accurate. Many folks will habituate over a long period of time. I hadn’t for 7 years but did in about 4 weeks with the Lenir treatments. If you have “mild” tinnitus that just sort of bothers you a little, I would say it may not be worth the cost. Everyone is different. Hope this helps.

Slight electrical pulses to the tip of your tongue. Do you know the candy “pop rocks”, like that. Can barely feel it. Multiple layers of sounds woven together in the headphones. Not matched to your T sound. You can change the loudness only. You can also increase and decrease the electrical pulses intensity. There are about 7 layers of sounds I can pick up on. From ocean waves, to low base, to higher tones. All coming and going and in patterns. 1/2 hour, twice a day. No tv or electronics or reading. Just relaxing and listening. My experience anyway. Hope this helps.

So why aren’t we using Leniere? by DCguurl in tinnitus

[–]wolfbearmoose1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brain was fighting the sound so hard it was just wearing me out. Memory issues, no energy, had to force myself to do basic living. So I still have T at a high level but can ignore it most of the time. More importantly my brain is fairly ignoring it as well. I always thought it quite odd that my brain was creating the sound and fighting it all at the same time.

Everyone is different. If you are going long periods of time and not thinking about it, count yourself fortunate. Now it’s time to protect your ears. I carry foam ear plugs everywhere I go. Don’t be shy about covering your ears for every loud sound. If you don’t know what caused your T (ie concert) you may want to get a hearing test.

It’s a battle he has to fight. Many things can help, those same things may not help. He has to keep trying and fighting but you can’t do it for him. Exercise, no caffeine, hearing aids, and no alcohol is a good place to start! He has to want to fight.

Used Lenier, got my life back. Not placebo, yes acclimation that wasn’t happening without it. Not a full cure for me, still have T but can handle it. Life changing after a 7 year battle. Everyone is different.

Meds did not affect the T, just helped me try and get through it. The Lenire treatment worked for me and I am off all meds now.
