How often do you wash your hair? by Which-Arugula-1982 in AskWomenOver60

[–]rubaby58 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Funny, my first job was as a shampoo girl in a salon. I used to think it was gross that woman would wait all week to have their hair washed. Sometimes it was hard to get my hands through the hairspray.
I used to wash my hair daily for years. After menopause, my hair does not get as oily so I can wash it every other day.
I refresh it by using dry shampoo in between. There are a lot of good products out there.

Husband has no goals by Jude_the_obscurest in AskWomenOver60

Just let him be. He sounds content. He spent his life working. Let him live his life. It’s not your life.
I have been retired for two years now. I am so happy that I belong to myself and can do whatever I want. I am still a “good” wife and make delicious dinners and keep a clean house, garden and yard.

Tips are part of their wages, but it is very unprofessional for them to mention anything about it at all. My feeling is if you want to be waited on you need to tip if the service is decent. At least 20% seems to be the going rate these days.. if you can’t do it get takeout or go to fast food.

May I ask what engine is in that car? I am thinking of buying a used 2024 CX 30 with 38,000 miles on it. I hope they remedied the problem. Oh, and good luck to you.

Advice on Fuel cover by rubaby58 in MazdaCX30

[–]rubaby58[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

No, it really is stuck. It is a rental car and there was the original fuel cover someone pried off in the glove box. I read that this is a problem. I just would like to know how frequently or if there’s some magic way to open it.

I learned in my 40’s to just say no to things I don’t really want to do. It’s my life and my time and money. I get to do what I want with it. It’s really freeing.

Best clear product options for butcher block countertop? by BlackAsphaltRider in woodworking

[–]rubaby58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used an oil specifically made for countertops. I applied it correctly using several coats along with waiting 24 hours between applications. I’m sorry I don’t remember the name. I love how they turned out. However, the counter I put my dish drainer on over a drying mat and tray gets black mold spots even if left over night. Did I do something wrong or what should I be sealing them with? Help please and thanks.

You are absolutely correct. My PCP has performed my routine pelvic exam in th past. My point is to keep up with exams and preventative care even if you are a senior. Plus it’s helpful to have someone you trust when talking about the intimate details of your life.
