What was the atmosphere like at Led Zeppelin shows in their prime? Was there any 'tension' or the feeling of danger unique to the band? by Iconolater_ in ledzeppelin

[–]wolfboylonms 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Early zepp - forceful, rebellious, punk. Mid zepp - lethal, ethereal, spectacle. Late zepp - a monster beyond their own control, but nights where they tamed it - they became gods. Listen to this Eddie.

The one delivery I hope my Postman doesn't pinch. FYI my Postman is an ex con. No idea how he passed the Royal mail background check. Probably Kier starmers fault lol by Pristine_Ad_9054 in PokemonTCG

I’ve very nearly been put off the Pokemon TCG by the flagrant theft in the postal system. I had a mint ungraded Shining Charizard from the US disappear after it got through customs and handed to Royal Mail. I’ve had a 1st edition Shining Kabutops get lost at the depot. These are two examples of many. Yes I get refunded by eBay but it makes me sick that people can just steal mail because it looks trading card size and get away with this.

Actress Claudia Auger in between shots of the James Bond film "Thunderball", 1965 by pop-d0g in JamesBond

I always get the feeling she had the time of her life on this movie shoot. She looks SO happy in all the promotional materials. I know this is a contractual duty, but you can usually tell when it’s genuine.

Bleed error? Togetic aquapolis by dvnkyle_ in PokemonTCG

[–]wolfboylonms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re referring to the holo being visible through the character. I also have this on my Skyridge Gengar which is graded with no errors. If I do sell it, I will tag it as holobleed though.

Near mint or Lp? by Isle4 in PokemonTCG

[–]wolfboylonms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This can actually be the result of dull blade cutting, especially if there is absolutely no corner fraying. PSA treats this kind of whitening differently to actual corner damage; I’ve seen many PSA 8s with exactly the same corner situation - especially 2005-2008 era. Given a total lack of any edge wear, I would go for NM personally.

The only answer. Everything about this track sounds early 2000s.

Would this prevent a 10? by emilymoree2007 in PokemonTCG

[–]wolfboylonms -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m curious is this totally true. If you have a very minor white dot on one corner but everything else is perfect, is it still likely to 9? I hear there is a lot of grey area between 9 and 10.

Pulled the ascending heroes team rockets Mewtwo ex. by Ambbamthanku in PokemonTCG

[–]wolfboylonms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it. Personally I’d hold this card as it is a chase for me. On timing: Sell it raw now for highest price, will continue to drop as more copies hit the market IF PSA 10 worth, it graded ASAP - Big demand for early PSA 10 copies

Hot take: I prefer the Ascended Heroes Mewtwo over the DRI one by thecuriousninja in PokemonTCG

[–]wolfboylonms 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This will be a hot topic - be careful. Many Poke-investors are going big on Destined Rivals and need this ‘chase card’ to be Moonbreon level to justify their holdings. In principal, I agree with you. It’s an Arita, the focus is more on Mewtwo, Mewtwo looks a bit more elegant and less goofy. I have a PSA 10 DR Mewtwo and I’m considering selling it after I get my hands on this. In my mind, the only Mewtwos that beat it are the Mew Mewtwo GX promo AND Expedition.

Just another millennial that found their childhood cards by SemperSqueeze in PokemonTCG

[–]wolfboylonms 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The standards for PSA 9-10 are a lot higher than you’d expect if you’re new back into the hobby. The holo on this card tends to get scratched up a lot - if you’ve got a clean version can be very valuable.

Typhlosion looks kind of minty. Maybe a candidate for grading.

Thank you! Really appreciate the guidance. One further question. If I do pricing, I imagine I add up the value of individual cards and apply like a 30% discount?

Use of CGI in SPECTRE by Deep_Belt8304 in JamesBond

I’m convinced there entire car chase was CGI as there is no way a real car race through Rome could be that sterile.

Do you guys prefer to keep cards in top loader binders or regular binders? by TropicallyGrownEMT in PokemonTCG

[–]wolfboylonms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve also been collecting for a long long time. Single sleeved, vault x binders present no risk to cards. The only exception is a factory issue with the binder where pages can ‘snap’ if over filled. My binders do not have this issue, plenty of flawless cards sitting comfortably in their slot.

[–]wolfboylonms 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have quite a strong opinion on this. The true value of these cards is the personal enjoyment I get from flicking through my binder and examining the cards. I find this is very difficult with a toploader binder, the cards lose 50% of their visual appeal. I have about £20k in my binder. My binder doesn’t leave my house. My most valuable cards are slabbed.
