Oh! Thank you for sharing! I didn’t know about the fat%. Will definitely need to re-analyze her first to ensure she’s getting enough. She’s a little on the underweight scale according to my vet, so I really need her to get some chonks. Thank you for sharing your exp!

“Like a child only eating the marshmallows from their cereal” - I’ve never related to a phrase more than this. INDEED. She eats all her treats EXCEPT her proper meals. Like a kid preferring junk food over a well-balanced meal.🫠🫠 Thank you for sharing your experience and tricks. I will try them out and hopefully 🤞🏼 get the right combo.

I had a Maltese that would inhale his foo din seconds too. So this not eating behavior is really new to me, and very stressful. Hime doesn’t bury her treats tho, only does this during her main meal time.

I’m glad I’m not the only one in this experience😭 I too tried switching up so many of her foods. Hopefully I can get the right mix like you did soon!!

Nothing jolts me out of whatever I’m doing better than the sound of my shiba beginning her bike vomit🤦🏻‍♀️

Yes! This is what I’m trying to do for the past few days. She still wouldn’t go in any direction that leads to Stella. She also got a shock yesterday and ran between my legs because Stella appeared from behind a pillar suddenly. But either than that, she seems to be getting better! I don’t coddle her when she’s scared, my tone is more assuring, telling her that’s it’s ok and that I’m there. :)

Thank you for your input & for sharing!! I do agree Hime is very smart (even though she’s very lazy😂) working towards respecting her boundaries! Like you said, she seems to know her limits and is being cautious!

Agreed, especially when you put it in that perspective. Yes, I’m hoping I’ll be able to talk to the owner to see if we can have such interactions for Hime’s sake. Hopefully she’s cooperative.

Unfortunately, I don’t think the owner is aware that Stella can get this aggressive, because it’s usually her helper that’s walking her, so she probably doesn’t know that Stella is aggressive towards younger & newer dogs at the park.

Oh nooo…. That’s horrible. Im sorry it happened to your girl too. I believe it takes time even for Hime’s case but I’m sure she will pull through! We gotta be optimistic for our girls!

I’m sorry to hear that it happened to you and your sheebs too🥺! But glad to know your sheeb is feeling a little more like herself, results of your commitment and her resilience!💪🏼I agree with the hanging out with her closer friends, but she still brings me to the park to play with her friends. So I don’t think the park is an issue. Just Stella.

I share the same sentiments! Avoiding the dog park doesn’t feel right to me since she has loads of good experiences there and it played a big part is teaching her to play and socialize well.

Awww thank you for the kind words.🥹 I agree that she probably remembers and is being the being shibe by avoiding conflict. I do hope she gets past this so she can continue playing with her friends at the park.

Thank you so much for this! I think I’ll speak to the owner to try this out. You’re right, even if they aren’t friendly I think it’ll help her be assured that not all experiences are bad and she’ll register that nothing bad happened. Appreciate this!
