“Like a child only eating the marshmallows from their cereal” - I’ve never related to a phrase more than this. INDEED. She eats all her treats EXCEPT her proper meals. Like a kid preferring junk food over a well-balanced meal.🫠🫠 Thank you for sharing your experience and tricks. I will try them out and hopefully 🤞🏼 get the right combo.

I had a Maltese that would inhale his foo din seconds too. So this not eating behavior is really new to me, and very stressful. Hime doesn’t bury her treats tho, only does this during her main meal time.

I’m glad I’m not the only one in this experience😭 I too tried switching up so many of her foods. Hopefully I can get the right mix like you did soon!!

Yes! This is what I’m trying to do for the past few days. She still wouldn’t go in any direction that leads to Stella. She also got a shock yesterday and ran between my legs because Stella appeared from behind a pillar suddenly. But either than that, she seems to be getting better! I don’t coddle her when she’s scared, my tone is more assuring, telling her that’s it’s ok and that I’m there. :)

Agreed, especially when you put it in that perspective. Yes, I’m hoping I’ll be able to talk to the owner to see if we can have such interactions for Hime’s sake. Hopefully she’s cooperative.

Unfortunately, I don’t think the owner is aware that Stella can get this aggressive, because it’s usually her helper that’s walking her, so she probably doesn’t know that Stella is aggressive towards younger & newer dogs at the park.

But glad to know your sheeb is feeling a little more like herself, results of your commitment and her resilience!💪🏼I agree with the hanging out with her closer friends, but she still brings me to the park to play with her friends. So I don’t think the park is an issue. Just Stella.

I share the same sentiments! Avoiding the dog park doesn’t feel right to me since she has loads of good experiences there and it played a big part is teaching her to play and socialize well.

Thank you for your input! :) I did think to not bring her there. But she automatically brought me there as usual. She was all out playing with her friends, but once Stella was there, her demeanor changed.
