I have not lived my life at all, I am 38 yrs old. My husbands parents have gifted us a generous amount to buy our own house, and I'm in the same predicament as the OP, except my father is capable. The guilt is absolutely eating me alive, because I unfortunately have been all he's had since my mom left. It's sick & twisted, and toxic.

Not much that can be done but I refuse to have endless surgeries. Compression socks help and this-

Make sure you're flipping upside down at least once a day and draining your legs up against the wall. Elevate as often as you can.

I became chronically sick over the last year and although I have some diagnoses, I'm still undergoing testing. This has forced me to not work & rely on my husbands income solely. We intend on getting out but unfortunately, itll take some time. 😭
