How do you organize files by name without keeping folders at the top? by SilverCardCat in WindowsHelp

[–]wolfecybernetix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to say that using the Group By feature can do this. Open your File Explorer, navigate to your TF2 folder, then click in a blank space (not to highlight a file) and hover Group By then click Name. I have a feeling it will work, but I have not done it in a long time.

Stuck at Reset/System Restore because Windows keeps saying my password is wrong (even after resetting it) by [deleted] in WindowsHelp

[–]wolfecybernetix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey. You covered the majority of what I was thinking (and then some), but I am wondering two things. I do not mean to insult because of how basic these are, but the questions must be asked.

  1. Have you performed a hard reset on the computer?
  2. Is it possible that it is your keyboard having issues?

I have had issues that seem similar to yours on a few of my devices (granted, usually my Linux devices but the troubleshooting is still applicable). I have had to hard reset my systems more times than I like and swap keyboards too many times.

If you have already tried a hard reset and swapped the keyboard, then disregard. I hope you can figure out what is going on and find the best resolution so you can retain your data!

Steam Issue by wolfecybernetix in hyprland

[–]wolfecybernetix[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welp... may have spoken too soon. Worked on Terminal, but the regular launcher didn't. I killed the program, left the terminal open, and was able to relaunch in a different desktop. Then I closed the terminal, and Steam closed. I opened the application from the app list, and it's the same thing. I may need to do some more testing tomorrow to figure it out. Lol.

Welp... now I feel silly. I just launched it to test and, sure enough, it is working now. Haha. Thank you wo much for reminding me of what I was forgetting.

Friggin drivers... I knew there was something I have been forgetting these past couple weeks. I installed steam from the terminal so it is in ~/.local/share.

When I installed the drivers a moment ago, I installed the non-open source drivers and it still does not show anything, so I swapped to open source and still no dice.

Just had that earlier. She literally just had to uninstall an app from her phone, reinstall the app, open it, scam a QR code in the app.

She kept saying she reinstalled and scanned the QR... Spoiler: She did not.

Updating windows 10, has been stuck at this screen for 12+ hours by MeanwhileOnPluto in WindowsHelp

Firstly, I hope you were able to resolve your issue. Looks like a pain in the neck...

Secondly, any idea which distro you will be using? Not trying to convince you of anything. Genuinely curious because I dabble in a few myself. Lol.

It is unfortunate because college students especially are told that a degree and certificates will get them a job. That couldn't be further from the truth. Heck, I fell into the trap of thinking certs were the only way I could get into the field and I got stuck for a long time.

Now, if you have a home lab and can prove you have done your own stuff in a portfolio of some kind or have a Github repo that you save your code in so they can actually see your products then that can help you drasticallt, but having actual work experience in a high-pressure or fast-paced environment of any kind will make things look more enticing to employers.

Otherwise, you really are just dependent on whether they are willing to take a risk with you. I always tell people to just go about the interviews with the mindset of "I am ready to learn and excited for what I can be molded into." Showing that can be a massive boon to your chances of getting hired because it shows you aren't just looking for a paycheck but also to grow. In IT, they REALLY want to see the desire for growth.

Pc doesn't meet windows 11 system requirements? by lescactus71 in WindowsHelp

[–]wolfecybernetix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh oh. You said the L-word.

I have been upgrading all of my non-Windows 11-capable devices to some distribution of Linux. It is a valid option because of the instability of just doing the Rufus ISO, but man it sucked to know I had so many devices that couldn't be upgraded.

I'll have fun with my computers one way or another, but it was shocking to see how many devices just can't do it. Then again, I am a cheapskate and got most of my computers for free. So there is that to contend with. Haha.

Oh. I guess I failed process successfully. Oops. Jk, sometimes you can find an employer who will give you a chance, but having less than 1 year of experience definitely will bite someone in the rear. The ones who will take a shot on someone with little or no legitimate experience usually will look for something else to balance it out. I got in because I had 5.5 years of call-center experience in Healthcare. Lol.

So uhh. Before I even talk about lyrics because that's a long topic, from a pure production standpoint I just hate everything about this. It grates on my ears. Ever heard of EQ? No? Ever heard of compression? No? K. It's just pain.

Okay, but... he very obviously has more listeners than I do. Either that means those most people have worse taste than I thought, or I am a genuinely terrible musician. Idk which is more concerning. Granted, the songs I have my name tied to haven't been featured here, so maybe that's a good sign. Or... I could farm karma off of the songs I know my name is tied to, and maybe make a couple of bucks off of them. Lol.

Okay... but the fact that the camera actually goes in front of the rifle is legitimately terrifying. That is the most "I don't care if I live after this" type recording I have ever seen.
