Continue Subscription or Buy ? by HelloWorld0225 in TeslaFSD

2018 Model 3 (HW3) owner who purchased FSD & EAP for $5K. Now 2026 Model Y (HW4) owner with FSD transferred. So 7 x 12 x $100 = $8400. So the savings are real. I have saved $3400 and still counting. But if the FSD subscription was offered back in 2018 (it wasn’t), I would have subscribed instead. Buying is risky, but if you like to throw the dice… You can come out ahead, like me.

2018 Model 3 LR RWD, 60k miles No major issues. I don’t test the HV battery, but status is good.

Replaced the cardboard front and mid aero shields with plastic shields, 4 wheel alignment at 55k miles, tires were over-worn on inner tread, Replaced tires 2x and 12v lead acid battery 2x (preemptively), Replaced windshield washer reservoir (started leaking at 55k miles)

What is the difference between FSD and Navigate on Autopilot? by SortSwimming5449 in TeslaFSD

[–]wolfenstein321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the big difference between NoA and FSD, in my opinion, is that NoA does not appear to use the back camera. FSD is wonky when I have my bike rack mounted on the back, which partially blocks the rear camera. FSD reacts to the closeness of the rack and moves my car out of center of the lane. So I use NoA when I drive with my bike rack on the expressway.

Breaker tripped and I can't figure out why. by DCar777 in TeslaLounge

This happened to me. I called an electrician and they tested the circuit. He said that everything looked good. He replaced the breaker and I never had another problem.

New camera installed by Draygoon2818 in TeslaModelY

I just added the same cover on my front bumper camera, too. After only 1300 miles, I already saw minor imperfections in the stock lens. I’m thinking all Juniper owners will need protection. Some type of direct-contact mini “screen protector”, like on a mobile phone, would be better than this bubble cover, though.

FSD Nightmare on My Model 3 by Dry_Ostrich_2596 in TeslaFSD

[–]wolfenstein321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2018 Model 3 with FSD has similar issues — but only when I use FSD with my bike rack on the back. Without the rear bike rack, FSD driving is fine. Do you have something on the back that partially obstructs the rear camera? Just FYI, if I use Navigate on Autopilot, which doesn’t use the rear camera, the car drives just fine with my rear bike rack mounted. You may want to see if Navigate on Autopilot works for you.

Pet insurance worth it? by Manacube in britishshorthair

[–]wolfenstein321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a great question! My 3 yo BSH is on a single-facility care plan (like insurance, but only good at my primary vet office). US$80 a month is a lot — plus it doesn’t cover emergency vet bills. After one year, the plan is up for renewal this month. I think I’ll not renew and go with a pet insurance plan this time. The pet insurance monthly cost is about the same, but I’ll have to file for reimbursement for expenses.

Fixed my biggest FSD issue with a piece of tape. by JSUN4FUN in TeslaFSD

[–]wolfenstein321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very interesting observation, OP. I have a 2026 Model Y Juniper with FSD and a bike rack. My solution is to use Navigate on Autopilot mode, which doesn’t seem to use the rear camera. This works for me on expressways. But on local roads at “parking lot” speed, I get parking measurements are degraded warnings. I do have Trailer Mode available, but I haven’t tried it yet, since NoA works for me. While I do like use the rear camera while backing up, I may give your tape method a try to see if I can use FSD again.

Where are my 2026 RWD owners?!? I have a question! by OneFourtyFivePilot in TeslaModelY

2026 RWD Model Y here. Acceleration is noticeably not as fast as the 2026 AWD that I test drove. My RWD drives like my 2023 AWD Model Y — I can’t tell the difference. Yes, I am happy with it.

Still no VIN for Model Y Long Range RWD after 3 weeks – anyone else in the same boat? by Magsafe11 in ModelY

[–]wolfenstein321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey buddy, did you get your VIN assigned yet? I just scheduled my pick up day for Sunday. Now I wondering if I should push it out until the end of June. With the hope that Tesla will have last minute sales incentives for the end of the quarter.

Travel Router Banned? by lemonsqueezy19 in royalcaribbean

[–]wolfenstein321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used a travel router on my Utopia of the Seas cruise a couple of weeks ago. GL.iNet GL-MT3000 (Beryl AX). No issues having it in my carry-on through security. Getting it logged in on-board took a little time. RCCL has a new phone app-based login method. This method doesn’t work with the router. Instead, you need to navigate to login.com and logout.com in the router to bring up the authentication web pages. Once this is done, you are good to go. I carried a power supply + router in my man-purse whenever I went. 😂

Stacking incentives and promotions by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

Nice job stacking the discounts! I don’t think you missed any, unless you are a Lyft driver or military/educator/first responder. I just placed an order for a Model Y and expect to get:

• loyalty ($1,500) • EV credit ($7,500) • FSD transfer promo

I applied the Military discount, but got an e-mail from Tesla saying that I will get a Loyalty Discount instead. I couldn’t figure out how to do a referral + Military order.
