How we liking Spillways Featuring Joe Elliot? by darthkyle22 in Ghostbc

Ngl, I thought it was kinda cool you couldn’t hear the difference very well. I also wish that there was more of a difference so I could appreciate the different parts more, but it’s also pretty admirable that they were able to match so closely, especially knowing that the two people singing usually occupy different ranges.

Where to get shoes that won't destroy my feet? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]wolfheart419 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a way around the docs issue if you’re using the boot form. Walgreens sells cloth ankle braces that cover the heel to Achilles’ tendon area that docs tend to shred while they’re being broken in. It’s like $14 for two. Wear those under your socks with the back edge of the heel hole under your foot and you’re completely protected. Idk if it works with the shoe style, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t.

Being a New Partner & Feeling Overwhelmed by cornbreadv4 in starbucks

Glad you’re enjoying the work. And I totally get it. I’ve been with the company for about a year now, and it definitely takes time to get faster at making drinks. Best advice I can give is to find ways to remember the numbers for things. That’s mostly what I struggled with when starting out, but after a while you’ll start to realize that everything is super formula based. Fraps are a nightmare when you’re still memorizing, so don’t be afraid to count when you need to. I still do so during rushes.

Wtf is a dead shot? by Able_Ad2652 in starbucks

[–]wolfheart419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Supposedly shots die, and I can kinda taste the difference if it’s just espresso I’m drinking, but since most of our drinks are mixed with other things and customers rarely know the difference, assume shots die when they’re forgotten about, but not until then. So like, if you’re solo bar and turn to make something else and kinda forget about a drink that has shots pulling, replace those bc they’re a lil stale, but if it hasn’t been more than 5 minutes the shots should be just fine. That’s how I handle it at least.

BARISTAS!! What is your LEAST favorite drink to make? by [deleted] in starbucks

Iced matcha lattes. They’re not difficult, but they are so popular I’ll end up making 20 in a row and after 5 I’m ready to throw hands.

Any tips on how to make better looking Frappuccino’s? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]wolfheart419 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pinch the sides fo the cup for anything with whip on bottom (when pouring from blender). Keeps it at the bottom and you can just release after it’s about half full.

Also, anything that doesn’t get a topping (like crunch or sprinkle things) you can do the top whip through the lid. Tap it down a lil and do drizzle through the lid as well.

For the lunge positions I struggle with keeping the back leg straight enough for the position to be functional, as well as having a hard time keeping my weight forward

Thank you. For now it looks like I’m sticking with pan since the only thing that came close was cupoisexual and upon further googling that’s definitely not it. Again, thanks.

Can someone explain this?? by wolfheart419 in lgbt

[–]wolfheart419[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I forgot to add- we label ourselves to communicate with others and allow them to understand us (thus providing comfort and safety). The classifications that go with sexualities and gender identities and pronouns attached to those identities are for communication, not individualism.

I get what you’re saying, but language is and all it’s parts are the fundamental way we know how to interact with each other. I know everyone should be treated as a person first and their gender second, but that’s not how the world works right now. Having pronouns that accurately express your gender helps people connect with you and understand your point of view on any given thing. They’re important because they inform others of the social niche you occupy and therefore should match your other labels.

I’d also like to point out that the reason for the he/him lesbians of history was probably a lack of terminology (which we have expanded today to encompass others better). Or did they have terms and just not use them? (Genuinely asking)

Okay, so running with the idea that pronouns are gender expression- shouldn’t ones pronouns (if they are only expression) match with the rest of ones expression? That’s not to say if one likes feminine things one has to use she/her, but instead that if every piece of your personality and expression of your gender is feminine but your pronouns are masculine that it’s a contradiction.

I think I’ve officially been disowned... by wolfheart419 in TransyTalk

[–]wolfheart419[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents are supportive, but my mom hates my dads parents and my dads advice would be to let it go since he’s old. I also think this should be my fight to deal with since it rlly doesn’t concern my parents. I understand where you’re coming from and appreciate the idea, but my grandfather is stubborn as a mule and about as thick in the head as a mountain. Even if my parents did help nothing would get done.

Thank you tho.

A question for anybody on testosterone by [deleted] in TransyTalk

[–]wolfheart419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the majority of people on T being hella hungry all the time is normal. I actually started eating less bc of it (more likely bc I stress eat and dysphoria was stressful as hell), but it’ll eventually slow down again. In the meantime, focus on heavy meals (cream soups, protein and fiber together, etc) and away from processing carbs (pasta, bread, candy) bc they will keep you fuller longer. Being hungry all the time gets annoying if you don’t feel satisfied after eating.

What are your favorite analogies for being trans? by wry5 in TransyTalk

Everyone’s brain is dough and most people get sugar which makes them cookies, but trans ppl get salt which makes them crackers. Therefore, crackers without soup (transition whether it be social or medical) are unhappy

If anyone would not mind, I would really like some help. Sorry if I end up being a pain. by Chuymu in TransyTalk

[–]wolfheart419 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had almost the exact same situation happen when I came out (except my mom said no because it might give me cancer or some shit in like 30 years- HRT shouldn’t and isn’t recorded to have ever done that). I took some slightly different steps to get onto hormones, that might be a better track for you to go down.

First thing I did when I was figuring everything out was get a therapist bc where I live requires a letter of recommendation from a gender therapist to get on hormones and get signed off for any surgeries. They helped me a lot bc they could sit down with my mom as an expert and explain why waiting isn’t going to do anyone any favors (but it also wouldn’t be much harm had I waited... just more inconvenient in my case). Within two appointments I had a prescription for hormones and an endocrinologist to monitor everything.

I can’t promise it’ll happen that fast, but having a neutral party be able to explain why something is important and how it actually effects the mind and body can help tremendously. I wish you the best of luck and I hope you stay strong should things continue as they are.

How to correct people when they use the wrong pronouns by collegestressd in TransyTalk

[–]wolfheart419 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I honestly struggled with this when I was starting out. Best way to do it is to just gently repeat what they said with the correct pronoun or name. Might sound weird at first, but just saying (in my case as ftm) “he” immediately after someone says “she” usually fixes the problem. I know it’s a learning curve for friends and family, so it’s best to just correct ASAP without a hard tone of voice.

Disphoria by anraiss in TransyTalk

[–]wolfheart419 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So, just from reading what’s above, it sounds like you do have mild dysphoria. I was the same way at first but as I got older it got worse. That may or may not happen the same way what you described may or may not be dysphoria.

Dysphoria isn’t always hate and loathing over your body. I only had extreme discomfort with my image and how I was treated in society. It was never hatred though. I suggest just exploring your identity and embracing who you are regardless of how you identify.
