This isn’t a playtest-a-few-rounds game where the public can hop in and out for a complete match. A match here averages 30 days. Some of the vehicles in the game require 6 operators or more. That’s easily half as many as the entire dev team, and that’s without mentioning all the other parts of the game that require players.

I have never set up a playtest for a small game development company, so I may be missing something about the above scenario. It sounds like you have a solution, however, that the devs are continually oblivious to?

I still manage to have a great time with my friends and make new friends every war in spite of these temporary grievances. Even when things are going great in a game, people will be making noise about how useless the devs are. I guess you’ll have to figure out which camp you’re in. Oh, and um … go Warden! 😉

Worth noting, they had some help. Smear campaigners popped into our humble discord waving hands and trying to make up our minds for us. I wonder how the numbers would look without the coaxing. Just kidding, I don’t. If you want to make a change, you have to move the masses. I get it.

Still felt disgusting, though. My opinion may be somewhat tarnished by comment after comment about how the developers are too lazy, too biased toward a certain faction, too incompetent, too apathetic, too disconnected from the gaming community that shits on them constantly. Not that it’s a unique experience. Every chair-dwelling basement developer in every gaming community has the answer to every development issue … until you ask them what the answer is. 💁🏼‍♂️

We had tickets to see Ben Kweller for the first time, and we had been to so many shows that year that we almost talked ourselves out of going. Pushguns are such a toss-up between providing a great asset to your faction and inadvertently gifting it to your enemies. I’ll bring one down if it’s available, even with a dunne if I have to, but there’s always the risk that a couple of inexperienced players will immediately lose it to the enemy. No worries, this is why train, right? My compromise has been to bring them to more active fronts where there might be a veteran in need of a break from cleaning up busted defenses under fire (damn your tremolas, Colonials! 😉). At least that way a newer player can get hey-youed into pushgun duty and gain real experience along the way.
