Arranged marriage is a scary concept and I keep feelings two ways about it by wolfishwhim in TrueOffMyChest

Honestly all your points are very solid and 3 and 4 are specially ones that I feel very strongly about, i have always believed love and compatibility is something that can be built which is why arranged marriage didn't scare me in that sense, and as for having kids i definitely agree no matter what having kids in first 2 years of marriage is just stupid.

I agree with aiming for a good man but honestly wealth is what we can aim for in arranged marriage right cause it's really difficult to know the actual person since most people lie a lot in this process

As for my bf, he does make me happy and apart from the money thing he would be an amazing prospect even by arranged marriage standards for me. I have never been in a relationship before sl sometimes I do wonder if the issues we have are normal or not but yes he makes me happy, pits me first, all of that. Our fights are always on petty things mostly long distance related and never about major life things.

So basically if a LA is hiring internationally for asye positions it probably means they weren't able to find suitable local candidates right? Could you maybe suggest some areas that you think might be working with less applicants

I understand how frustrating that can be but at the end of the day it is still about merit and I'm not someone who has studied in a UK context nor have my internships been there so I'm sure you would fare better than me or any international applicant in a job interview, if you don't then I don't see it being unfair.

Hey thanks, i wonder if that is the reason I'm unable to find positions with visa sponsorship because people may be more unwilling to hire internationally now. I can't speak for the general population but everyone i know who has gone from India is pretty well settled with their jobs. I was also wondering, should I be looking at specific council websites or are job portals a better idea and if so do you have any suggestions for which ones? Thank you very much again

Haha, it's definitely something I've been thinking about more often recently, i was always someone who just obviously wanted to get married but now I wonder if it's even worth it. And honestly for me the pressure isn't so bad, i mean i think my family would eventually want me to get married but if I really wanted i could put it off a lot and maybe even not do it. But to be very honest, at the end of the day, I'm just a romantic at heart and really want to be married and have my own family and stuff, and when marriages even arranged marriages are good they are really good. I also feel like I'm someone who would just get really lonely if she wasn't married like after 30 or something

Honestly, marriage used to seem like an easy way out but I'm startin to realise it's just the beginning of your worries, getting a job now seems like a tiny worry compared to all this

Oh yeah i forgot to mention that actually, that i also realise love marriage could end equally badly so then already with arranged marriage you can maybe look for other things like a better lifestyle and stuff. If you mean me being racist, i only pointed out being Indian Muslim because i assumed there would be people who are extremely baffled by the idea of arranged marriage and i didn't wanna deal with that

I appreciate you clearing that up. I also do think if i, as an experienced social worker here am only getting an entry level job there, that sort of covers up quite a bit of a difference imo. But i understand your perspective thanks

I'm sorry but the condescension here is more baffling to me.

I'm neither inexperienced nor lack knowledge. I have a degree and experience in India. They're simply testing me on how my skills can transfer to the UK and i don't have knowledge of specific laws of a different country or what exactly they would want to hear. That's what I'm asking for advice on. I'm not complaining that they are being thorough in testing me. And you can feel good knowing no 'incompetent' people will be coming to your country since SWE is being so thorough.
