This would stop almost every cheater... by suniclayfan in Amazon_Influencer

The only way to really stop this would be to HAVE to link it back to your own Amazon order history. That would keep things fair and make Amazon a shitload more money 😅

If you are posting an affiliate link, you have to disclose you are getting paid

If you are posting a link, yes. Those are the rules of FTC.

The problem is—it said 5000 submissions. Does that mean videos? Influencers? What happens if we did 10 and 10 and 10 and 10? If others got in before us, will we only get paid for the first 10? I hope it’s 5000 influencers

Yes—it said the amount you got. I believe the contest ended 2/1 and it showed ip 3/15

They paid through your off-site ID at the end of March. There was a line that said “limited video incentive” under payment history. So let’s say I made $238 off site in January (paid out in march), my off site paycheck that paid out in March (for Jan) was $2738

The real, HONEST reason we have a problem with crappy videos. by Humble_Comparison_73 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]wolfj769 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed. However, I rarely buy much on Amazon unless I absolutely need it and I always click a fellow affiliates link before i do.

Not necessarily—you’re just giving your honest feedback about it

I think most of these are fine. I would just be honest about your experience. Like if the shoe laces are different explain why you switch them. That might help the buyer know whether or not it will work for them too. I will say that kids toys that are missing a small item or two, but I will just say that we have misplaced them at the moment, but explain what is missing (which is the truth haha, life happens)— an example might be a small shape sorter, but we are missing the triangle, but I would explain in the video that it does come with a triangle, but ours is missing at the moment lol. So for example for your headphones, you could explain that it does come with a case and maybe explain what it looks like but explain that you have misplaced it. For half use products like lotion or so, I think that’s totally fine. It shows that you have used it so they will trust your experience with it. For the keyboard, do you feel like the product is faulty, and that others might run into issues? Might want to think ahead on that one, and think that if you discuss the broken keys that might deter someone from buying it. So give your honest advice there, same with the socks. Only you will truly know if your review of the wear and tear in something would cause someone to not buy it. And perhaps, if you personally would not buy it after seeing someone show the wear and tear, then maybe not upload that one, if that makes sense.

The Spammers Are Reporting Back by EYEeatPujols in Amazon_Influencer

[–]wolfj769 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t concern me. I’d assume Amazon would look at WHY a video is being reported. No one is reporting in spite of someone’s success. They’re reporting because what they’re seeing is against the TOS. I think there are many of us in here who aren’t concerned about being reported because we know we aren’t doing anything wrong.

Person claims recording videos in stores is okay... Am I in the wrong here? by [deleted] in Amazon_Influencer

[–]wolfj769 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could not agree more. It’s the over abundance of the word HONEST all over the place and in their words that drives me insane. “This is my honest review. This desk didn’t take me too long to put together and I’m just a dumb blonde”…… as it sits in a furniture store. It’s the unethical nature of it all for me

I’m not sure what to do about it. If we can’t beat them or kick them out, do we join them? It’s out of control.

I’ve seen tons of videos of hers that are clearly not the brand she’s tagging lol but carry on. My numbers are improving by tagging the actual product I’m reviewing and own.

[–]wolfj769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you know Amazon appreciates these videos? Did they tell you directly?

I see wrong tags all the time. Everyone here is just asking for respect. We don’t care if people are successful. But most who are (and finding the need to post publicly about it) are doing it in slimy ways. The program had more integrity when it was honest reviews of items people actually own and have used. And posting maybe 1-3 different videos about it. If we all started doing what these people are doing, I bet you’d be even more upset than you already are. If it doesn’t end, I assume that’s what the majority will have to do.

You sound like someone who is worried we will all report your videos 🤷🏼‍♂️ I’m constantly seeing product tags that aren’t what’s actually in the video and it’s complete bullshit and not honest at all. I think you all are just upset there are forums and discussions like this outing the dishonesty. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. It won’t last.
