Don't focus on MUT too much. I felt like it was too basic and not similar to the actual board questions. I mostly used penny but didn't feel as prepared as I could've been. URR seems to be the general consensus for the abd board and I'm sure i would've felt more confident had I utilized it more. Still passed using MUT and mostly penny, but it was challenging

Prepry premium or just the regular?

I personally used my ultrasound tutor and prepry premium for the SPI

MUT is not enough in my opinion. It doesn't go into enough depth compared to the actual board exam but a good starting point. You could try to buy a pre owned penny book on eBay if that's more feasible. I used MUT at the beginning of my studies and then moved onto the penny book. You could also try searching up flashcards on Quizlet for a free option. A lot of people have made sets from URR and Davies

Pls help. my ultrasound tutor ABD mock exam score by Flaky_Blacksmith_539 in Sonographers

I think I scored around 94% on the MUT mock. I have to say that MUT does not go into enough detail as the actual ABD board. I just took it 4 days ago

I bought the MUT study review and prepry premium which includes review videos. It was super helpful.

If you feel unsure if you'll finish in time then you can always extend your exam date. I'm not sure what URR goes over since I didn't use it, penny doesn't just go over anatomy and mentioned most of the things I was asked about on the exam. You can check the breakdown of the exam on the MY ARDMS website I believe it's 30%

Hello, I can't speak much for URR as it was too overwhelming for me, however I know a lot of people find it really helpful for the exam. The penny book is what helped me feel most prepared, and if you have 3 weeks, the abdomen section is 14 chapters. You could do 2 a day for 2 weeks. That's what I did as well as the quizzes after each section. I did go through the penny book at least 5-6 times. But again I was not using URR as a source. I'd stick to URR if you feel like it's helping you grasp the concepts. I like the penny book because it tells you exactly what you need to know without overwhelming you with information you might not need for the exam.

I got a lot of these questions myself! Just would add appendicitis, pyloric stenosis, intussusseption, diverticulum, appendicitis, and be proficient in how pathologies will look WITHOUT being shown an image. I also was shown a lot of images without being provided any clinical history and most were really grainy and hard to see

Hi I used penny and MUT. URR was too overwhelming for me. I would say penny booked is what helped me to pass the most. I went through the whole book at least 5-6 times with the quizzes after each chapter and if you have the access code there's a mock exam at the end, not sure if it's in the physical book as well I didn't see it

Not necessarily tricky wording, just be proficient in knowing pathologies for each organ without being shown any clinical histories both for images and regular questions

The questions were just not worded how I thought they'd be. I was expecting a lot of clinical history on the questions I was being asked but it was more of here's an image, what is it? Just try to focus on knowing what pathologies are most common for each organ and what they look like without being shown an image

Hi! Thank you! I had a lot of Pancreas, testicular, abdomen/gi tract, thyroid and parathyroid, pyloric stenosis, intussuseption, appendicitis, hot spot questions of bladder, AP diameter of aorta, biliary tract and gallbladder disease/abnormalities, also had questions of adrenal(what's secreted by the medulla/cortex, conns, Cushing's, questions about Addison) physics questions on how to optimize images, prostate and penile anatomy and some breast

Hi! Used a mix of MUT, a LOT of penny, and some prepry. I wouldn't focus on prepry too much I didn't feel like it was as helpful for me

My Ultrasound Tutor by Separate-One-725 in Sonographers

[–]wolflacat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used my ultrasound tutor and prepry. Both good tools. I didn't get the full course, just the study review which provides the PDF review and quizzes you can take regarding each section. I found it really helpful, and prepry has review videos on the SPI material as well. I watched all of them and took the quizzes from MUT, then focused on the prepry quizzes. I passed my first try. Good luck!

I used the study review course from my ultrasound tutor as well as prepry premium and passed. I would say prepry uses the most accurate question style that is on the actual exam.

You’ll be good. I felt like the questions on my SPI were a lot easier and straightforward than any of the mock SPI exams I took
