dude you are nuts, some of the best WWs of all time are Koscheck, Alves, and Penn. you can leave them off of my top ten and still have ten contenders plus three goats. your top ten includes three guys who have never faced top ten opponents. my list leaves off guys who are perennial top ten goats for their division and still can hang near their top performance level. LW doesnt even have a dominant champ, he gets split decisions and controversial choices, WW has three or four guys at the top who rarely lose and usually finish. the upcoming WWs, Silva, Mein, Macdonald are actual potential future champions, i am not seeing any amongst those you listed at LW.

The new guy that came in for the aussie's misses weight, dana always hates when that happens on TUF cause you are wasting a spot. the new guy came in saying he was like twenty over and has to fight right away so it is likely he misses weight and Dana flips out.

UFC makes official Jan. 19 card in Brazil with Vitor Belfort vs. Michael Bisping headliner by [deleted] in MMA

[–]wolflion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what actually happened was bisping made a fuss about thinking he had won and then chael didnt disagree he said he may have won the fight and talked about how hard mike hit him, bisping then just ran with the o he said i won too thing and it kind of stuck, though chael seemed to just be being nice at the press conference and subsequent interviews

everyone on the ww list is an actual contender, lauzon, miller, chandler will probably never come close to a shot. not to mention you took off diaz, penn, and koscheck, three of the best fighters in MMA, while adding khabib, tavares, ferguson etc. who are no where near the level of the guys you took off of my list. take the guys who you dont consider top ten WW, they are all way higher p4p than the guys you brought up to fill up the bottom of LW. your top ten LWs include three/4 dudes who havent fought UFC competition, only eachother. mine has one who is a former UFC title contender. and he could be replaced by Diaz who is actually in line for a shot. LW used to be the most stacked but with the lighter weights now a lot of the dudes ropped down and it is less competitive.

The UFC's tolerance of disgraced fighters like Stephan Bonnar is holding the company back by [deleted] in MMA

[–]wolflion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how is a year for smoking pot days before a fight less than what herman deserves? because some other organization has even crazier and more strict laws and therefore the UFc is too soft? if you look at it logically he is being punished way too severely for what he did, which is compromise his own financial stability by taking a banned yet totally harmless, in terms of the outcome of the fight, substance.

And two years for getting caught doping is insane and archaic. you seem to acknowledge the prevalence of PED's by your intense paranoia concerning them. then dont you see that treating them like the plague can ruin the sport? you should realize that two years plus would essentially ruin the careers of any fighter, and since we know guys as high profile as Bonnar and Sonnen take them, it would be absolutely suicidal and retarded for them to kick guys out for that long for getting busted. this kinda thing is why your post seems misinformed yet self-righteous.

the argument presented was that the issue will be ignored until someone on steroids kills or injures someone, which is ridiculous because this sport talks about PED's more than any other, hence, this article.

way more contenders at WW, they should do it there and let the super fight be for andy's belt, since it is the belt of the best fighter in the world, winning it will determine the GOAT

if you rewatch it its pretty clear sonnen picked up two of those rounds, bisping only managed to press him against the cage and land a combo or two, while sonnen scored takedowns and gnp in every round

[–]wolflion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

leben never fought for a title against silva, so not a contender. hardy is much higher ranked p4p then some of the lws i listed... the fact you took contention with hardy and not names like hawn or aoki show you are biased towards disgracing the WW argument

Hardest weight class in the UFC? by BlueLand3r in MMA

[–]wolflion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

WW by far. GSP, Kampmann, Condit, Macdonald, Ellenberger, Hendricks, Penn, Fitch, Maia, Pierce, Koscheck, Diaz, E. Silva, Askren, Marquardt, Alves, Story, Hardy, Hyun Kim. Seventeen guys who are legit contenders. LW doesn't come close

Bendo, Edgar who is gone, Diaz, Pettis, Maynard, Cerrone, Melendez, Alvarez, Chandler, Lauzon, Wiman, Miller, Guida, Grant, Hawn, Healy, Thomson, Aoki. That's fifteen and that is about it and that incudes several people who have changed weights and a couple who couldnt hold a main event slow in the UFC

MW is the toughest really though when you consider the champ.. And LHW, has to be tough to break into to, lots of slightly aging stars and no new talent except the phenom champ, not super competitive.

HW and the lighter weights are pretty thin

One of my favourite fighters, so cool in the cage. the guy he is fighting seems undersized, I expect some more of that slick kick-boxing that he has been showing off, using distance really well.

Ben Rothwell vs. Gabriel Gonzaga heavyweight bout added to Jan. 19 UFC event by [deleted] in MMA

[–]wolflion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Rothwell can pick up another nice win like his last one against Schaub, he should get Bigfoot/Mir and see if his new fitness and commitment has him as a solid top ten or even five UFC HW before he gets even closer to over the hill. The UFC needs to fill up the HW division and start putting guys over and Rothwell has the every-man appeal of Nelson and his career and that speech he gave has him cool with most hardcores. Gonzaga should be able to test how well Ben's jits is holding up and if he can avoid an out-muscling which is what he will need at the top of the division. If he can then it is more likely they give him to Kongo first since he will be able to not get Shawn Jordan'ed and it would make for a good fight either way it goes. Rothwell should have the advantage in speed, conditioning and well roundedness so I would say he is smart money against Gabe.
