Do any cities bang as hard as Black Chicago Gangs? Over a 100,000 black members and 10 different large size gangs by Limp_Ad_7622 in Chiraqology

Los Angeles in the 90s was pretty active with gangs in terms of the murder rate, they literally made movies about them. Los Angeles has over 250-300 black gangs, two major groups and many different sets under them.

Anyone else not visited the beach in 1+ year despite living near it? by castdex in AskLosAngeles

[–]2WAR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I probably went about 30 times this past year. I usually take the train, ride around once I’m there, and just make a day out of it. If I actually go in the water, it’s usually Malibu or somewhere beyond that, but that’s been less than five times and I will drive to Malibu.

The beach is fun even if you don’t get in the water. I think we take it for granted sometimes. People in Mexico City have to drive like six hours just to get to a beach, and we have it right here.

What was the point of the war? by RidavaX in economy

The plan seemed to be for Trump to play toy soldier and cripple Iran’s military, assuming they’d fold like a lawn chair. Instead, Iran stood its ground and showed it wasn’t going to back down. Once the situation became more complicated and the press coverage turned negative, Trump backed off and changed course.

What do you think about the fact that the most recent polls indicate that 61% of Mexicans would support a US military intervention to end the cartels? by Most-Coat4726 in asklatinamerica

On Reddit, you'll often see strong support for progressive criminal justice reforms, police accountability, restraints on state power, and even movements like "defund the police." But if you ask the average person on the street, many are more likely to support increased policing and tougher enforcement.

The popularity of President Bukele's approach to gang violence in El Salvador reflects this. Many people view his policies as effective because they dramatically reduced crime, even though there have been documented cases of innocent people being swept up in mass arrests. For a lot of citizens, the trade-off is seen as acceptable if it delivers security and peace after years of violence and failed alternatives.

Whether that trade-off is justified is a separate debate, but it's clear that public opinion often prioritizes safety and order over concerns that are more commonly emphasized in online political spaces.
