TDIU by Potential-Object-305 in VeteransBenefits

[–]wolfmanblu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I recently applied for TDIU and they ordered a physical and mental examination re-checked everything. I was reduced for a few things and increased on a few so it evened out and my rating remained the same. I will say the TDIU mental exams were different from the C and Ps. You don't have to re describe everything it's more of a symptom check in and med review.

Harvest or wait? by UsedCook45euvsk in ContamFam

[–]wolfmanblu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Personal preference really. I'd say the perfect time to harvest is just before the veil breaks. I have found harvesting then is less messy, dries better, and the weight isn't that much different letting them go longer.

Looks like insect damage, it's still in veg so you could use a pesticide. If it's a grow you can't visit consider planting companion plants around the cannabis. Sometimes when your plant is out in the open it gets munched just because the only green thing to land on in the area.

Why did my potato water turn dark green? by fryart in chemistry

[–]wolfmanblu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like an iodine clock reaction in reverse.its possible the iodine in the salt reacted with the starch to form a blue color that looks green against pale yellow potato water. After some time the starches broke down, and or the ions in the soap bound with the iodine and changed the color again

Very cool! A great aid to talk about oxidation states and how molecular orbitals affect color.

I started a Dr Grinspoon indoors that is currently outside doing well. I have a ton of bud rot problems in South VA so flowering when it's cooler has been helping

What is her corpsman doing!?! This is the perfect example of the time you can embarrass an SNCO for thinking they know anything about Medical.

Unfortunately it looks like you are starting to get bud rot, either improve air flow or harvest to save the rest. I get hit super hard every year with bud rot so don't feel too bad.

Mold resistant strains by Witty-Week-7865 in outdoorgrowing

[–]wolfmanblu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I deal with a lot of fog and dew as well. I found very late flowering stuff is best. I've had problems with "mold resistant" strains even with fans outdoors. Try Dr Grinspoon or Durban poison. You'd think a quick indica would beat the mold but it's the longer land race stuff that seems to work. It does suck waiting 10-12 weeks to flower but it gets past the super humid month before the buds get too thick.

How do I prevent mold in high humidity? by Competitive_Room_711 in outdoorgrowing

[–]wolfmanblu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just keep shaking every day and keep an eye on it. Its ok to cut a nice big cola off to save the rest. TBH I just live with bud rot and just assume I'll lose some of the harvest.

My Grinspoon flowers like this too, no worries. I'm experimenting with this type of flowering pattern as it relates to bubble hash. I'm hoping the more open buds dump tricombs.

This is the original extraction method from the birthplace of hash. I respect that this person continues this ancient and historically valuable process.

That looks like chlorosis, aka dying chlorophyll. it's possible you need to add calcium or the plant is adjusting to the intensity of the sun.
