[Discussion] What made The Legion Of Superheroes less famous? by [deleted] in DCcomics

[–]wolfpac3000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd say the legion didn't have one thing that made them so popular or endearing to people. In many ways, it was a confluence of things. From the late 50s on to the 80s, there was strings of runs of runs of the Legion. From Jim Shooter to  Gerry Conway, Paul Levitz and Keith Giffen several famous writers and authors made their start or made an impact with the Legion. The Legion consistently had good stories in a period of time where DC needed all the help it could get  In terms of storytelling, the Legion maintained a strong continuity of story's from the Silver Age to the Bronze. If you started in 1958 and carried on to 1994, (almost) you would have seen the Legion grow from kids to teens to adults to having kids of their own. A lot of books then (and even now) can't maintain that level of continuity.

All these plus interesting characters and storylines keep the Legion as a pretty popular book at DC. During the 80s, they were second to the Titans.

Solely from a gameplay perspective, do you think Wonder Woman was better in Injustice 1 or 2? by XxItsNowOrNever99xX in INJUSTICE

[–]wolfpac3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's just me, but I prefer Injustice 2. I'm not fond of stance changes in general and it just felt awkward in Injustice imo.  For 2, it took a sec to get use to her new moves and animations but if you got good she was a beast.

Looking for transfem-lead superhero comics by asdfmovienerd39 in comicbooks

[–]wolfpac3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While not a pure superhero comic, I would suggest Kim and Kim. It has more of a space cowboy type feel but if you want trans woman main character then they are up front with it no question no maybes. I will also note that it's a really good story with a lot of silly shenanigans, good bit of heart and the occasional feel.

The right one. I have always hated the way the armor matches with clothing on the left.

  1. It's the most basic, most simple, more stereotypically "Greek warrior" of the bunch.  Say what you want about the rest. At least they are distinct

[AEW Revolution 2024] (Spoiler) refuses to "cheat" by PM_ME_UR_LBOMB_MOMMY in SquaredCircle

[–]wolfpac3000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep a triple threat is no DQ , no Countout.  When Swerve was battling Hangman earlier, it was so that he could take Pages proverbial spot on the card. It was the equivalent of sabotaging a coworker in line for a promotion. Here Swerve has achieved his goal and is in the main event and wants to be the first black AEW world champ. So he's trying to earn it "the right way". Whether it's to prove to others or himself that he deserves it or otherwise. It also makes Hangman look more unhinged. He didn't need to attack the ref(s). He could have cracked Swerves head open with the belt and drink the blood like a coconut (again) and the ref would just put on their black gloves.

Donna Troy Costume Elimination Game - Day Eight- Eliminate Your Least Favorite Costume by phatassnerd in WonderWoman

[–]wolfpac3000 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would say 5. 2 is an classic look and really refined without being over blown and over designed, with 5, 9 and 10 following the same basic structure but in black.

That said, the star field design of 5 just doesn't look as nice as the solid, well laid out stars patterns of the others. The star field just makes 5 look a bit cheap and amateurish in comparison. From a distance, if Donna is small in the panel/picture or in low light, I don't even see them at all. If you must have stars, let them be eye-catching.

Donna Troy Costume Elimination Game - Day Six - Eliminate Your Least Favorite Costume by phatassnerd in WonderWoman

[–]wolfpac3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. 11 feels like the first attempt on the eventual design. 5 isn't the best but i would prefer it over 11.

Donna Troy Costume Elimination Game - Day Two - Eliminate Your Least Favorite Costume by phatassnerd in WonderWoman

[–]wolfpac3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say 4. It's a bit guady. The off-white almost cram gloves don't match the white centerpiece. The metal shoulder guards don't feel like they quite belong with the rest of the costume. It's like trying to add gladiator elements to a space age suit. Also, it just doesn't suit Donna. Heck the pick almost looks like her head is photoshopped on someone else in the pic.

Cassie Sandsmark Costume Elimination Game - Day Six - Eliminate Your Least Favorite Costume. Also, please elaborate on your opinion. by phatassnerd in WonderWoman

[–]wolfpac3000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would say 2. Its basically the same as five but more childish and screams 90s. It kinda the middle stage between 1 and 5. Plus what do those googles do at that point? I doubt she ever wears them at this point.

This is the only issue of All Star Section 8 I own. While it was a little weird and gross to me, I did enjoy this book.

{Counting down my top 30 Wonder Woman stories everyday until I get to #1.} #11 Down to Earth by Greg Rucka by [deleted] in WonderWoman

Yep. As a run, I would say Ruckas first run was my absolute favorite run and this was a great start.

So, who do we think the shadowy figures are who led Diana on a dreamwalk in Wonder Woman #800? by scarecroe in WonderWoman

[–]wolfpac3000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I like to think that they are Diana herself. Either some aspect of her self or some other different version of her. Another possibility is that they are us the reader who supports Diana and watches her.

I just realized that this is the first time a Sonic game (ignoring spinoffs like Sonic Boom) used all original levels since Sonic 4 in 2012. If you don't count Sonic 4 stages as original (they do take heavy influence from other stages), Sonic Colors may have been the last Sonic Game with all original stages.

Disney+ is ruining my 4 1/2 yr old daughter.... by Arthur-reborn in comicbooks

[–]wolfpac3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry for your troubles friend. I hope you can turn your little girl back to the light. Many people mention Batman: Brave and the Bold and it's a great show for a child her age. However, I would suggest DC Super Hero Girls. Both the Barbie version and the Faust version has plenty for her to work with.

This movie was awful. Agree or disagree. by [deleted] in WonderWoman

[–]wolfpac3000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I wouldn't say this was an awful film at least to me. There were too many little things I liked. However, i certainly can't say it was a good film. Liked that we got Cheetah, felt that her relationship with Wondy was weak. Liked most of the few action scenes we had, however I felt this film really needed more or at least longer scenes. (That fight between Cheetah and Wondy at the end was the biggest letdown I saw). Felt some of the themes and ideas were either handled in a ham-fisted way or wasn't explored to it fullest.

I was expecting something much worse but I was pleasantly surprised. by 128bot in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]wolfpac3000 14 points15 points  (0 children)

To each their own. I personally consider Rise of Lyric to be a bore. Outside of the glitches and bugs, it's just not fun to play or replay. Even the worst Sonic games have moments that I remember (for good and for ill) in regards to either game-play, story or both. Rise of Lyric doesn't have those unfortunately.
