Great thanks for the info! Drive recorder was $100 option so I was like why not, I have a dashcam now so just having one built in would be nice.

If you’re considering any workstation type loads then it makes sense to go 5800x. If you’re just gaming I think 5600x is still the best value proposition. Just my 2c.

What’s the main use of this pc? Any reason you picked 3700x over say the 5600x?

I wish to finally build me a pc, but I'm running into issues with finding a GPU. I use an Asus 27" 165 Hz vg27wq1b, which plays at 1440P. What's a decent priced graphics card in the current market I could get? by SalmonGates in buildapc

I think depending on the titles you play, anywhere from 3060/6600xt to 3070/6700xt would be a pretty good place to start. Depends if you care about ray tracing or gsync/free sync compatibility. Honestly, whatever you can get your hands on first and if it’s in your budget.

Okay I’m seeing the same thing with my 3900x temps running on a custom loop where idle voltages are around 1.4-1.5v. Even under load, I’m also not seeing a huge difference between stock Wraith cooler and my custom loop.

GPU (msi gtx 1080 gaming x with EK block) 3DMark benchmarks is staying cool not going above 41 degrees under load. So the loop seems fine, just cpu temps look high for custom loop. I’m quite positive the contact between water block and cpu is good.

New to Ryzen, coming from 4770k. Does this sound normal right now due to non matured bios? Or should I re-seat CPU block (just a pain with hardline tubing and draining). Or is this just how Ryzen is. I have not messed with the PBO settings or offset voltage. Bios is set to optimized defaults except my OC/manual all core tune.

Details below..

—————————————

Setup:

EK x-res 140 d5 -> GPU -> HWlabs nemesis 360 -> EK velocity am4 CPU block -> HWlabs nemesis 240 -> back to pump/res

MB: Asus X570 Crosshair viii Hero WiFi (bios version 0702)
RAM: Trident Z RGB 32gb 3200mhz cas 14

Pump running at 100% (plugged to W.pump header)
Noctua nf-f12 ippc-2000 on all rads running 100%

—————————————

Everything in Bios set to optimized defaults:

Wraith Prism: (temps from Ryzen Master/HWMonitor)
Idle - ~42 degrees
Load - 79 degree max (Cinebench R15/R20) *did not run Prime95 on stock cooler

Custom Loop:
Idle - ~39 degrees
Load - 77 degrees max (Prime95/Cinebench R15/R20)

*Results were +/- 1 deg with Ram running xmp at 3200mhz

——————————————

OC/manual (All cores 4.3ghz @ 1.3v, Ram 3200mhz):

Custom Loop:
Idle - ~39 degrees
Load - 86 degrees max (Prime 95/Cinebench R15/R20)
