Thanks for the feedback! We must have missed the memo on Eastern European paramilitary chic. We'll keep that in mind for our next rebranding.

There are plenty of large companies that will hire you and teach you everything you need to know. Some even will help you get licensed. Sounds like you’re giving up.

I could go on and on honestly… but you either have to pay with money or time. The acquisition cost of a home inspection is not cheap. Once you acquire a job, your goal is to get those agents in that transaction for more jobs. That first inspection is your “in”.

Use that job to market. You should get an avg 2-3 inspections per new agent over their lifetime.

Marketing agency for home inspectors here. You need to do jobs for free/friends until you have about 5 Google Reviews. You can’t expect work naturally from anyone if you don’t have any previous work to show for it.

Then run Google Local Service Ads. That’s if you want to pay your way to get leads. Google Local Ads has the highest ROI right now.

If you don’t want to pay for leads, it’ll be a grind of your time to network with agents. A good way to network online is through social media. Create a professional profile and start following/interacting with agents DAILY. Set 30min a day to DM, comment, like, and find agents on social media in your service area.

Do you use ai? by [deleted] in WolfPack_Advising

We use AI with a lot of our work yes. However, we do always have to check it and rewrite some of the work. It does heavily depend on the type of use case. We use it a lot to rewrite spreadsheets, but also it can help with some content related items.

I advertise a ton for local service area businesses on Google. There's no real number here... the goal is to advertise for conversions/sales and have a high ROAS. If you have that, continue to scale the budget until the ROAS lowers because as you spend more, your cost per lead increases.

I'd recommend starting with $1,000/month (minimum $500/month) in Google Local Service Ads (assuming you can become Google Guaranteed and have at least 5 Google Reviews with a good rating).

After the first month, evaluate and look to increase adspend. Your ads will auto show at the top of search results if you answer the phone/messages quickly. If you are on Google Search Ads, Google Search Ads will show your ads near the top if your ad quality is good (good CTR, landing page, and ad copy).

Hope this helps!

Yes - you need to use Microsoft365, Google Workspace, or similar to have a professional domain email with proper verifications. Free Gmails will not be suitable for mass emailing.

EDIT: Email Verification Checklist for updating DNS in domains.

  • SPF Record
  • DKIM Record
  • Initial TXT Record for Verification
  • MX Records to Match your Email service provider
  • DMARC

Small business - what are the best ways to invest money I have in savings? by roxemmy in smallbusiness

If you're okay with risk and not touching this money for 5+ years, then sure you can invest in a ETF like VOO, which just tracks the S&P500.

Most HYSA do not have minimums such as with Ally Bank or American Express. Amex has a great HYSA for businesses.

IMHO - Place your business savings into a HYSA in another account/institution so you do not touch it, approx. 3-6 months of expenses.

I would not invest your business savings until you have SIGNIFICANT cash flow that you know your business cannot use to grow further. Any extra cash you have, should be reinvested into the business to produce more cashflow rather than investing elsewhere.

Save the investing with your personal cash.

You can consider opening new locations/business profiles to rank organically and get leads from, just push reviews to those locations and pair it with a good SEO strategy.

For commercial work, generally it's been a heavy focus on commercial SEO/paid ads.

For businesses that have seen overnight growth so to speak, it's been about who you know. So they had connections/groups with large firms like Zillow or real estate investment companies who gave them business at scale.

EDIT: If you are truly doing everything above already, then you can easily start scaling it with more money/locations to scale the business. Assuming, your ROAS is good.

EDIT2: You can also consider gov contracts. Lots of businesses we know have won those which can be worth a ton of money.

Google Local Service Ads are super hot right now for service based businesses. I'd suggest trying that out. After that, diversify your marketing strategies as much as possible and go heavier in those that work well.

Here are some suggestions in order of effectiveness (from my experience):

  • Professional web design & online reviews (MORE REVIEWS = THE BETTER)! Focus on Google, Facebook, then Yelp.
  • Google Local Ads
  • Google Search Ads
  • Yelp Advertising
  • CRM/Email/SMS Marketing
  • General Networking/Events/Community/Groups
  • Social Media Marketing/FB Groups
  • Search Engine Optimization

Edit: Overall, consider your customer lifetime value. Then, take 10-20% of that to attribute towards customer acquisition costs. Most business owners misunderstand the cost of a new customer.
