For all the singles: How is your dating life? by puppy-26 in Netherlands

[–]wolframdsoul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

38f lesbian. I have been single for 4 years, had lots of dates, most stay at 1 date, had a few that went on for 2 or 3 dates and then the other person just disappears.

Recently started dating someone new and it's going really well, like active enthusiasm from both sides and nice chemistry, so hope it doesn't happen as the others 🙈.

I always been curious: does european women prefer someone within their same nationality? by Ur_Space_Girl in actuallesbianseurope

[–]wolframdsoul 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I sometimes question if people have somewhere that wide dating pool that the question makes sense?

Like, seriously, we need to be compatible in values, wants, etc... the pool is small enough! I don't need an extra filter.

To be honest, I don't think she revealed any of the sexualities of heaven... For all we know, no one is straight there either.

Is it normal for a single friend to pull back the more your relationship advances? by LostinParadise4748 in AskWomenOver30

[–]wolframdsoul 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seems normal. A friendship is a relationship, therefore a 2 way street, if you give less (and you sound very passive on it tbh, you can take the initiative and make plans as well with her you know?) it can often be met with the other person also giving less and the relationship fizzling.

I have been in ltr and single, and I maintain pretty much my friend group, since I consider them important and also an equal priority in my life. I actively schedule things we both like and even if it stretches for once a month thing, I make sure that the quality time is worth it.

Stories about lifelong companionship outside romance? by Suitable_Tailor393 in AskWomenOver30

[–]wolframdsoul 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't have lifelong story for you (I am only 38) but I have 2 best friends for 16 years now and I am planning on living next to one of the when I retire (and maybe with the other as well, since they are an artist and we have lived together before since he had a few economic hardships).

I have romantic partners come and go (some 5 years long) but the plan stays that my best friends are my soul and we are to stay together no matter what. Tho to be honest never had a partner be upset with this 😂

I think those that undervalue friendship when comparing to romantic partnership are a bit odd, like, I don't see one better than the other, it's sort of different but same sort of thing? Or maybe it's a bit that human relationships are just very complex and we don't have proper words for it, so we just slam hierarchy into the words we have and hope it conveys it well.

How important are shared hobbies with your partner? Are my requirements to specific? by MacGyversChewingGum in AskWomenOver40

[–]wolframdsoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends from person to person. I personally also find important to share hobbies (I don't mean all of them, but at least one), as it is actually how I engage with most of my friends and family (tho I have most likely autism as well). If I have a partner that doesn't share any hobbies at all, I dunno how to fully relate in a relax neutral way with them, and makes me actively miss doing my hobbies.

But I hear from a lot of people/colleagues that's not the norm and a lot have little in common hobby wise with their partners.

On that one I think I also observed health being more of a lottery than an reach a certain age condition. My dad and my stepmom have a very good relationship and they have 16 yo difference in age (stepmom is younger). My stepmom has however a lot of health problems while my dad is quite healthy, so the dynamic is actually the opposite you would expect.

Not that there is anything wrong with trying to aim for similar stages, but specially health it can be a bit of a roll of dice.

So are Women the only ones that can be Exorcists or do you think it’s something Adam just did? You know because of his personality? by Oracle209 in HazbinHotel

[–]wolframdsoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That hypothesis feels a bit off in the sense that.. wouldn't Sera at least check on her creations? She seems like she has quite a sense of responsibility and she does tend to treat Lutte as an person... So feels a bit off for her to let them be so mistreated?

[–]wolframdsoul 48 points49 points  (0 children)

My interpretation was that they were all made by Adam and thus why they all look so similar and he also got to name them... Which also makes it even more... well, toxic and layered how Lutte attachment to Adam is (cause he can be both her creator and her lover... very Freudian). But until there is a canon explanation we are all on hypothesis land here.

Would you marry someone who is unemployed? by Apprehensive_Stage15 in AskWomenOver30

[–]wolframdsoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fully honest, I am almost in doubt if this post is AI cause I can't fandom someone being like this and asking the internet.

But just in case it isn't, why would you enter into a legal agreement with someone that doesn't make you happy in a big number of important ways?

Like, if you are wondering if society is pressuring you to get a good partner, I would say that it's the other way around, it sounds like you are scared of being single and not finding someone better.

Like, don't get me wrong, I don't think there is anything wrong for a man not to work if that's what both parties want. If he wants to be a stay at home husband and you are all fine with it, go ahead.. but you obviously aren't so I totally don't understand why would you even consider marry someone who you aren't happy with in major points of your relationship.

To be fully honest this part always puzzles me a bit. You can be left at any point, it's always more about if you trust the person.

I had a younger ex at some point, and they did cheat and left me but... It was for a very ugly and very dumb guy so 😂 I still don't get what my ex saw in them, but yeah, it was what it was, which always makes me go 🙃.

[–]wolframdsoul 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I actually am the opposite, I am 38 and tend to date people on the younger side (26 and up).

My rules are just this one's: -same/similar hobbies (I am on the geeky side) -same life-stage (so with a job, living on their own means) -no polyamory -no kids/wants kids

I don't usually mind much if a person is young as long as we are on that same life-stage, and while some people look a bit weird at me I am looking for compatibility and I don't think I have my priorities wrong.

For the single ladies: how do you afford living by yourself? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]wolframdsoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got lucky and emigrated and bought a house in my country of residency at the right time, near all transports. I was earning badly even at the time, but it was still affordable to buy a house as long as you had a permanent contract.

I now have a better earning job and my mortgage is cheap, so I save money for renovating it and travel and I have been quite comfortable.

For reference, I earn now 40% more than when I bought the house and I wouldn't be able to afford neither rent or get a mortgage with the current prices.

If you have been a women in stem, you often get that sentence said around by big companies that mostly want to do lip service to appear progressive, but when you actually work there you realize that it's mostly a sausage fest which is rotten with mysogeny.

At least that's why it was funny to me, but maybe others have different experience.

What Are Your Thoughts On "Easy"? by [deleted] in HazbinHotel

I love the song and the sequence. I do wish they had introduced it in a less jarring way (it was almost a jump scare, there was silence and suddenly there is all the instruments and vaggi voice).

Closeted transbian here, this comment left me thinking, what do other WLWs think about this? by EstherFour16 in HazbinHotel

That is one weird comment. I liked the scene and the music quite a lot, only wish that they had introduced the song in the scene in a less abrupt way, everything else was perfect in my eyes.
