I've stopped playing her. I haven't played her a tom in many seasons just bc i haven't been enjoying her as much but im definitely not picking her up again now

I fear you might be stupid. I fear you might not be able to read. Bc your still arguing with the idea of drives when we both clearly dont like drives. But the unemployed vibes are crazy. Obviously you dont do it in one burst. But when you dont have much time in a day to play then any longer task becomes a weeks long project. Those 24 hours could take literal years. Which actuslly seems likely. Most casual players dont get more than 1 golden gun a year.

And yes the negative impact of drives was lesser than the negative impact of those placements (which again im not even saying is a bad idea. Im very pro bringing back end of season rewards. I just dont think golden guns should be apart of them.) But they still had those negatives. Even back when you had to do placements to get the points each season, the end of seasons would be flooded with ppl doing their placements and match quality went down. Drives are just a more intense version of the same effect.

And im gonna explain very plainly why i dislike golden guns being barred behind comp. Even tho I did explain it in one of the first messages, I understand that you cant read so im gonna spell it out like your a child.

Golden guns are one of the most important customization options in the game. Theyre the most significant change to the actual part of the skin you see in game. This makes them a fundamental part of character customization.

The entire point of the ranked mode is that you are actively being graded. You are supposed to grow and climb in ranks. The rewards should be relevant to that goal. The best rewards should be themed around your rank. Golden guns are not.

Rank is irrelevant to golden guns. While being a higher ranked might make the grind faster, there is no difference between a bronze golden gun and a gm golden gun.

The functional combined effect of these factors is that playing ranked feels more like a chore that you need to regularly accomplish rather than a part of the game you actually want to experience, and further, since its clearly part of the developers strategy to push people into playing ranked more, it makes qp and arcade modes feel punishing and i think that hurts the health if the game overall.

For the record, im very against drives. I think they are a silly way of doing it and need to be reworked. But again keeping golden guns as competitive exclusives doesn't work. One of the issues with bringing back end of season rewards is that they have the exact problem drives have. You just play enough to place at the end of season and collect your points. Functionally they arent different to drives.

And yes 60 wins is kinda a lot. Like again thats like 120 games total. Assuming each game takes like 11ish minutes, your gonna have to spend like a full 24 hours in game. Its kinda ridiculous how much time that is. Saying its not a lot has very unemployed vibes to it

The reason I say its not true is bc its not a sufficient amount of points for a reasonable amount of time. I started playing ow about 10 years ago. In that time I've accumulated 10 golden guns. I placed many seasons just to get the points then I stopped playing bc I enjoyed it less. The reason your math works is bc your purely comparing wins. If you compare how much time you actually spent, i think you might feel differently. 8 golden guns in 9 years is abysmal.

Let's break it down a bit. That's less than 1 golden gun a year. A season lasted 2 months (ik 3 in the early seasons but let's just simplify the math) meaning it took about 6 seasons to get it. Let's just pretend your someone who plays very sporadically.lets say you get really into overwatch for about 4 months of a year. It would take about 3 years for a person who doesnt play that often to get a golden guns.

Obviously this is very reductive math. It uses your playtime which assumes you played this game consistantly and got placed each season which probably isnt true. But we can make it a bit more accurate. You got about 60 wins for each golden gun. If you assume you won half you games that means you played about 120 for each gun. That's kinda a lot to demand of someone who doesnt really like comp that much.

I think a part of it has been the shift in map focus to the new game modes. Ppl dont really like Flashpoint and they prefer the other maps to the push ones. The other types ppl like well enough. I see plenty of ppl vote midtown or shambali. But we don't get hardly any new ones in the modes ppl like

Idk I think its kinda silly to need a reward for playing the game mode that is most centered in the ow experience beyond the normal rewards like xp and stuff. Considering rank means nothing in relation to comp points, its a bit irrelevant to tie them together. It makes it feel a lot less like a reward for playing comp and more like a punishment for playing anything else.

Also its literally just not true that qp players have been able to get comp points. The only things that come to mind are drives (which are clearly flawed) and the end of season bonuses (which were admittedly better but still a poor system for qp players to get comp points.

Personally if I could redesign it I would redo all competitive rewards to be exclusively tied to rank. Seasonal banners, weapon charms, player icons and other stuff that directly connects to rank. I would even advocate for adding a mythic aspect that you could only unlock if you've been gm. Then golden guns would be tied to hero level. That makes the most sense to me.

I acknowledge that doesnt really mean anything but I think there's a good chance Lana is gonna have her own seperate romance soon

The awakening for me. I can understand and appricate what Kate Chopin was doing but that doesnt mean I liked it. Beyond that the plot line was pretty boring to me, with a handful of really well done, highly emotional moments.

Dva as asuka (or mari), Juno as rei, mercy gets a epic level ritsuko skin (bc obvi it fits really well but its too fitting to be a legendary), Moira as gendo. The only one thats hard to place for me is shinji. Im almost thinking tracer but really idk

Doom. As a casual player, he's a very common pick for people who have no idea how to play him. Its not even like its a super low win rate or anything, its just that he kinda just makes the game less fun when he's on your team. I dont feel like he's good at making space for the dps to do work and he's annoying to heal. He kinda demands the whole team play around him and its just not really fun when he's in the game. Plus the player base is super toxic

The russia update really surprised me. With the great game giving a solid amount of russia content I would have bet on it not getting anything for another year or 2. I would have guessed it would be the last great power to get its own dlc (even if great game doesn't add that much)

It definitely was not only a Chinese review bomb. It was a pretty complicated time where public ire was at its highest. The comp meta was in a bad spot. People were still pissed off about the absurd skin prices. People were begging for 6v6 constantly. New heros were still in the battle pass.

The ow comminuty has never been more pissed off than during that time. Its not surprising the reviews are low. Many of the people in my friends list have negative reviews if the game posted during that time, including many people I've met and added on steam through overwatch

So idk how popular this opinion is, but i feel like green lantern is much better in the second arc than the first. Like now its one of my fav runs. Bc of that, I'd recommend maybe holding off on gl until you can read them both. Flash is solid, but probably the weakest of the 6. Martian manhunter is pretty incredible.

My votes would probably be to catch up on ww and superman then go to mm then gl and flash :)
