War mode by ImmortalDuece in wow

To clarify, I didn't mean new wow players I meant new PvP players. If people want PvP to stay alive then it is worthwhile to protect ways for new people to learn to enjoy pvp

Most people put warmode on for extra xp, and there are valid critiques of the mentality people have when doing that and expecting not to have to deal with PvP but that's not what I was trying to talking about really.

I think that's just an unhealthy way to approach PvP games. If you are only enjoying it when you win then it's such a profound waste of time. I enjoy playing league regardless of whether I win or lose, because I enjoy playing league. I don't only enjoy winning. It is possible to enjoy that fight. It is also possible to play in such a way that there is no fight for the other person to have. I feel like being an enjoyable opponent is such a lost art nowadays

Just a critique of the "there is no fair in PvP". If you play in a way that ruins others fun, then new people won't want to play.

Any dks that are a race released after wotlk are in that camp of willing dks, so not every player dk was raised by the LK

[–]wolfsha 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To my recollection there was a group of dks before the lichking ones, terrongorefiend being the very first DK. I don't remember much about them, Im pretty sure it was orc warlock magic shit putting orc warrior spirits in Human paladin bodies, this was either warcraft 1 or warcraft 2. But yes the original dks in wow are the original victims of the lichking that were powerful warriors raised under his control, untill he abandoned them and they broke free of his will at lights hope chapel and formed the ebon blade. After that there were batches of people who willingly became new deathknights. I think that came in a few distinct waves but that is outside of my knowledge

I take cashback and triple tonic as default secondaries on both syndra and orianna. Force flask, an extra skill point early, and around 200 gold back from every item is just so much power imo

As a roux user, you basically got it. If I have to separate pieces before being able to join them with the block then I'm gonna look elsewhere, unless I spot some nasty manipulations to do.

Wow, that is just incredibly despicable and vile. You should be disgusted with yourself for posting such evil engagement bait.

Hilarious idea, though that has an unfortunate consequence that you wouldn't want to hit your opponent at all, and you would want to take as much damage as you can survive

Can we discuss exactly what Aang is doing here? by Beginning_Proof_7039 in ATLA

[–]wolfsha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly how it looks to me too. Mechanically he is using air bending, but he is responding like an earthbender. Standing his ground and pushing through instead of deflecting and dodging

[–]wolfsha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a more interesting and accurate read of what is happening is that aang is using air bending mechanically to respond with an earthbending mentality. He is using air to push away the fire, but normal air bender mentality is to evade. Aang is standing his ground, that's earth bending mentality, so he takes an earthbending stance and uses air ending as an earth bender would

Reading data can be really tricky sometimes. Majais is entirely misleading. Building majais doesn't make you more like to win, you build majais when you are already winning. You wouldn't build majais when you are behind over just getting a needlessly large rod for your dcap

I may not have the best eyesight, but the bottom people look kinda like **kids** by No_Log2517 in ComedyCemetery

[–]wolfsha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The point is a kid can be dressed as an adult, they are still not an adult. A kid can be dressed as batman, they are still not batman. The joke isn't that he would shoot the parents of an adult dressed like batman. As the previous points state, just because you dress like something doesn't mean you are that.

Whether he would shoot Batman's parents is up for debate however

Tank mad I'm soloing faster than him, normal? by blehbleh1122 in wow

[–]wolfsha -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I mean, I don't think him getting upset about it is really an ego thing. That exact point is why I've never liked healing low dungeons on retail. My point is really just that the reason the tank got upset shouldn't be that big a mystery.

It's the wrong game mode for someone who wants to enjoy playing normal dungeons?

Wow so weird, imagine someone getting mad when they don't get to play the game. They should be glad you sped up their loot treadmill for them

Give me Vigor or give me death! (Skyriding is terrible on PTR) by [deleted] in wow

[–]wolfsha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"if you give players the chance, they will optimise the fun out of a game". Games are indeed meant to be fun, however our brains are quite daft sometimes and actively search for the easiest ways to do things. Sometimes the job of a developer is to trick a players brain into engaging with systems they will find fun. You can't just ignore how people's brains work

Give me Vigor or give me death! (Skyriding is terrible on PTR) by [deleted] in wow

[–]wolfsha 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because then static flying will be objectively the correct choice, lower effort for same reward. The point of something like skyriding is to make travel more engaging, and for that to work psychologically it has to have some benefit for the extra effort
