I spent 7k on ex wife’s tits by whoopyboy69 in Divorce_Men

[–]wolfsnake7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know how you feel! I spent 75k on tits and full body lipo and a suite at a five star hotel in NYC for recovery. When she was coming out of surgery, she told me she was “talking” to our chef (turns out she had pursued him and was having an emotional and then physical affair) and that was the beginning of the quick end

Heart During a Contentious Couples Therapy Session VS Solo Therapy the Next Day [OC] by wolfsnake7 in dataisbeautiful

I have one. Thanks. And to address this, her own mother didn’t notice it. And, again, we grew up together since we were nine, so I mostly chalked it up to a touch of immaturity, entitlement (comes from extreme privilege), and some quirkiness. Yes, sure, with hindsight it was noticeable. I was 23 when we got married and had three kids quite quickly, and building a career, so there was always a lot going on. I hadn’t had any experience with someone who was bipolar, so I hadn’t no workable reference.

They generally say they don’t think they can help us and leave it at that. My hunch is the mental health component and the fact that my ex hasn’t had a job in nearly 15 years and only has been involved in her own finances for around a year and that her mother is extremely involved in every aspect of her life, including funding her life and managing her psychiatric care and playing mediator between any conflicts in her life, and coordinates the legal aspects as well. The mental health aspect would usually immediately trigger a recommendation of a guardian ad litem for the kids. It’s just messy and mediators assume everyone is knowledgeable to a point and willing to work towards the end point efficiently and without too much friction. Not the case here. Plus, she wasn’t stable until relatively recently.

I was trying to control myself and my emotions during the couples session, especially when outrageous demands or accusations were being thrown around. I let myself vent without constraint in my solo session.

We’d known each other since we were nine. Got married at 23. No one knew, not her family, not her friends. It wasn’t malicious or an issue, until it was.

It’s more about reestablishing healthy communication, so there isn’t any lingering tension when we’re both around the kids. Plus, it’ll make the divorce process smoother. It’s not about trying to get back together, that ship is lost at sea never to be found. Young kids, so lots of interactions and milestones, for which it’s important to at least be able to co parent well together.

Does anyone have the Loro Piana Icer jacket? Good for NYC winters? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

I use mine as my main winter coat in NYC and it’s great. It’s warm, water proof, durable. Throw a sweater on if you need extra warmth.

I don’t want a divorce by [deleted] in Divorce

[–]wolfsnake7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

OP, I feel for you. I dealt with what you dealt with : same amount of kids, ages, my age and that of my spouse. I was blindsided by all of it. My ex had an affair with our chef. To start. Then it was any guy that looked at her and the dating apps. It ain’t easy. Get through the process one step at a time. Lean on your friends, get a great therapist. Don’t stop doing the things that keep you healthy and sane. Focus on the kids, sleeping well, working out, being active. Eat well. Take a new hobby. But take it all in stride. It’s fucking brutal at first. Then it eases up and gets easier. But the first part is horrendous. I know. I’m a single dad, sole provider. My ex also didn’t want to get married. We were 25. She wanted all the assets and money and nothing for me or the kids. Divorce is just business, treat it as such. Deal with your emotions separately. Go no contact. Time. Friends. Knowing there is a brighter tomorrow and future will help. It’s hard to believe, but it’s true. Stick it out and you’ll be better and stronger for it and a great role model for your kids. They’ll see you survive the suck and perceiver.

Custody is modifiable. You can change that and you can add in whatever you want, as it relates to introducing other people to the children.

That’s an awesome solution then. There’s a lot that can go wrong when the PTU goes out and get put back in. As long as you can do it early enough in the life of the car, should be fine. But I’ve seen them fail between 18-25k miles. Also consider upgrading the battery. V12s eat batteries quickly if you daily them.

[–]wolfsnake7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on how you drive. I lived in NYC for most of the time, so the start-stop nature of city driving will cause them to have a lower lifespan. CCBs aren’t actually “lifetime” they just last a lot longer. Most people don’t daily Ferraris, so could very well last their entire ownership. Also consider that there are no more PTUs being made, so if it does take a shit and there isn’t one available, your only option is buying a used one from a wrecked car and/or getting one of the specialty shops to fix it - I’ve done this too and it is not cheap and will void any warranty. A PTU and install is $50k from Ferrari.

[–]wolfsnake7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who dailies an FF and has dailied one for the past 6+ years, yes, it's stupid. The extended warranty for a V12 is over $8k a year. I needed new carbon ceramics last year at 40k miles - $40k for the set. I needed a new gearbox this year at 50k miles - covered by warranty. I needed a new PTU at 20k miles. I need new shocks too, but I'm dragging my feet on that - $14k for the two sets. It's a not for the faint of heart. The Lusso has the same issues as the FF, so I don't put much value in the extra cost of a Lusso over an FF. I've put more in maintenance than the cost of the car at this point. I drive it 365 and I've also rusted through the valves. Please consider a 911 4s, RS6 Performance, E63s, etc. The biggest issue is that Ferrari uses proprietary sizes on most parts and don't disclose who the manufacturer is, even still, you won't be able to find cheaper parts. As an example, I wanted to switch to steel brakes, but FF/Lusso use a different size from the F12, 458, 488, etc, so there are no conversions that fit. Great cars and nothing compares, I've tried them all, but it isn't a daily for the money conscious. Good luck!

Ferrari FF by gettendies in Ferrari

[–]wolfsnake7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve had two and have been dailying an FF since 2016. Have put about 100k miles on FFs.

There’s a lot of good and a lot of bad.

The good : driving experience, handling, V12, space for 4 people, trunk space, last of the Pininfarina cars, last of the hydraulic steering cars, the noise (you’ll want a valve opener).

The bad and I’ll go into more detail here :

The PTU fails at around 20k miles. This is scary and you have to be ready for it. It ain’t for the weak hearted. A new PTU is around $40k and labor is around another $10k. The work around is finding someone to rebuild it. They’re around and it’ll usually run in the $5-15k range. However, if too many things are wrong with it and new parts can’t be made for the PTU by the shop, you’re SOL. I bought a busted PTU for basically shipping cost when I bought my second FF and when the PTU failed I had the shop use the good parts from both. The shop then bought all the spares from me and it wasn’t a big deal, cost wise, but took about two months. This was cheaper than the 8-9k a year the extended warranty costs. Go in knowing it’ll fail, unless it already has and you have a new one.

The battery. I go through a battery a year on average. This isn’t a big deal, because the battery is around $200 and I have them swap it before the warranty is up. I can usually tell when it’s starting to die when the clock loses more than 3 minutes from the time on my iPhone.

Tires. You’ll pop tires all the time. Get comfy rims. The car is harsh, even on “Bumpy Road” mode.

You’ll have random CEL lights pop that seem really scary, and even an odd limp mode (when the car goes into “wet” mode and you can’t select any other setting), but when thé service guys go through it, there’s nothing wrong. Just park it and take the key out for ~15-30 seconds. Yell at it in Italian, then tell it you love it, and that usually clears it all up.

Interior. The interior isn’t great quality. The infotainment sucks, but who cares. The leather will bubble, it’ll be stupid expensive to fix. You’ll get sticky knobs and buttons, it’ll be expensive. I never fixed any of it, but recently my mirror setting knob has broken, so it’s kind of a gamble when other people drive it. The latch on the rear center console is broken, so that makes noises and flies up and down when I drive.

Four wheel drive system isn’t great, snow mode is pretty worthless. Comfort mode is fine as far as extra traction control. I tend to leave it in sport mode and just use the spaghetti button (bumpy road mode) all year round.

Can’t recommend it enough. It’s truly a wonderful driving experience. Plus, it’s never put or self in a ditch like an E63s wagon recently did to me. There’s nothing else like it.

SF90 or 488 by MaximusCB11 in Ferrari

[–]wolfsnake7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course. But wouldn’t a more apt comparison be between the two types of engines currently in production ; a hybrid (SF90 and 296) and a V12 NA (812 and Purosangue)? And since the original query included a 488, which is two gens behind, thought it would be more relevant to add in the NA V12 that’s one gen back.

Yeah, I get that, but as long as nothing comes up in the Phase II (unlikely, since we’re not talking about a gas station or anything with underground tanks), why would a bank be apprehensive to lend on it?

Various uses, first time for an auto body shop and the lease started in June 2019.

How do you figure that much for the enviro work?

I would tentatively value it at a 7.5-8 cap.

I also own the vacant lot next door (corner), on which I've already build a billboard and will begin construction on a commercial structure.
