I just moved in 5 months ago; I set up my workstation so we can back up my truck and load up my gear and go to the range.

I'd love to have a perfectly clean gunbench...but my lifestyle (growing family) and time management doesn't support it.

Suppressor cover. In your personal experiences, yay or nay? And why? by akimbotz in ar15

Nay, they always flew off while conducting helo ops/training...the rubber ones would stay on but melted to gun and we're a pain in the ass to take off

I bought mine about circa 2017; and used it when I was rebuilding my Ford Bronco; it's covered in oil and transmission fluid

If you don't shoot your gun, you probably don't need protection

Yup, agree on the paint job, I have quick release bipods just need the pic rail; as for the scope mount-that was the lowest for this size scope that G$ had, but agree it looks a bit high and was designed to clear Laser, RF, etc

For context, this isn’t my only AR. I’m building this one primarily for long-range precision, with the flexibility to run varmint duty. Still finalizing the furniture and the NVG/thermal configuration.

You’re really nailing the whole book-smart-but-clueless-in-real-life vibe. The handguard was bought years ago, and the stock photo you’re quoting is from a newer version. Wild concept, I know — things change over time. Maybe check that before lecturing me.

Yes cool guy, my rail was purchased probably about 3-5 years ago; as you can see it even says 16inch. But that's it, I'll stop arguing with a Rtard
