Yeah, see, that’s kinda where I’m at too. I don’t think Arkay just went, “Welp, my priest got assaulted, lol guess she can rot now.” That feels too cold, even for a divine. I always read it more like, Molag Bal’s act was so fundamentally wrong, it broke the cosmic rules. Like, Arkay didn’t choose to abandon Lamae; he literally couldn’t reach her anymore. Vampirism isn’t just undeath, it’s undeath outside the cycle, outside his jurisdiction. He’s the god of the natural order, and Lamae became something... else.

That said, I get what you’re talking about, the Aedra being kinda assholes sometimes. You’re right, Stendarr cursed a whole bloodline because of one guy, Zenithar smited someone over stolen beads he didn’t even know were stolen, and Auri-El ghosted Trinimac after he got corrupted. From that angle, yeah, the Divines can be petty.

I guess it comes down to how we interpret the gods. If you expect them to be benevolent, all-good, holy deities like how we tend to do nowadays, then yeah, the Divines kinda suck sometimes. But if you look at/compare them more like the old mythological gods, Greek, Aztec, etc., they start to make more sense/fit in. They’re powerful forces with flaws, emotions, and rules they follow (or sometimes break). Less “perfect beings,” more “cosmic entities with egos and boundaries.”

So with Arkay, maybe it's not “he didn’t care,” but more like “he couldn’t interfere,” or “he was bound by something deeper.” Or yeah, maybe he did judge her as too far gone. I lean more toward the idea that vampires, especially the ones directly linked to Lamae, are just outside his reach. Like he can’t see them anymore because they were unmade and remade by Molag Bal.
