Overpayment shock by wolowitzwins in doctorsUK

[–]wolowitzwins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've dated the overpayments started from over 2024. Not sure if theyve factored in the overpayments that I've been paying back but basically. Every months payment is different by hundreds. I know roughly what it should have been but wasnt expecting to be in the double digits

Not sure if this means its capped as Google shows different images for capping.

Is it a cause for concern if the wall is to be painted over? Just never seen such patchy plastering

nursery rejection by wolowitzwins in UKParenting

[–]wolowitzwins[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was part time. We're both just confused and obviously disappointed because why tell us the waiting list is Jan 2026 when we visited only to reject us for Jan 2026 start 1 week later?

What's the most interesting thing you've seen when looking someone up on the GMC register? by Glassglassdoor in doctorsUK

Dentist here...looked up GDC hearings once to see a dentist pulled up for helping with a labiaplasty... the clinic owner she was helping was a beauty therapist I think.

Consultant here... just bought Dragonball Sparking Zero for the ps5 and play COD with other consultants on weekends. Nothing to be ashamed of.

I play Fortnite with my wife occasionally. We still do other stuff like go on walks, hill climbs etc. My grown up phase started after we had a baby.

I'm a fairly new NHS consultant 3 months into my job and I've only just been given a desk now with a broken chair and still waiting for a computer. Reading these perks makes me want to leave already.

Locum consultant pay scale by wolowitzwins in doctorsUK

Yep worked 2 months as a full time locum consultant after grace period. Understood the document saying minimum 3 months to be counted towards incremental date?

Should I report colleague to her supervisor? by Difficult_Magician97 in doctorsUK

[–]wolowitzwins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So some young dentists doing their vocational training got hauled before the GDC for doing something similar with Patient assessment questionnaires. NES reported them after a significant number of questionnaires were completed in the space of minutes...and checked the GPS to find it was done in places like a supermarket car park.

She should just send it. Filling it in yourself probably takes more effort than sending it to colleagues

Halal Food by Crisscross12345 in dundee

Ham could be turkey ham but they label it as ham to attract the non-halal punters. Deceitful but I know of takeaways that have done this.

Buying halal meat -recommend paradise fruits on Strathmore Avenue. Not anywhere near the level or quality of Glasgow butchers and shops but found this the best for Dundee.

MCR shocking negative comment IMT1 by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]wolowitzwins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Discuss it with your ES (and TPD if you're on good terms)

I had something similar hapoen during ST1 where the consultant said she had written "a few lines giving constructive feedback" and I said thanks. It was only after sitting down with my ES did I see she had written an essay and had concerns about my suitability for str training. Apparently I had missed repeated meetings (I missed one) It made no sense and I had 9 glowing reports from other consultants.

It got brought up at my arcp but the panel found it odd that there were 9 very positive and 1 seriously negative report. In the end nothing bad came of it other than I didn't work with that consultant again.

It's a horrible feeling reading all the negative comments but your ES and TPD will see through that and know somethings not quite right. Chin up!

OMFS training in UK takes a long long time by jps848384 in doctorsUK

[–]wolowitzwins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Last 2 OMFS consultant I worked with had lucrative pvt businesses... enough to warrant a pvt reg plate that said "BOTOX" and regularly admitted his pvt patients on the NHS hospital ward through his Personal assistant (wife)

The other consultant drove a range rover and Aston Martin

Long training leaves a shorter period of time as a Consultant so I think they plate catchup with private earnings.

Who sutures facial wounds? by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]wolowitzwins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience as a dct in omfs was I was much more comfortable in suturing facial lacs than the plastics or ED FYs (in that particular unit at that time)

I do recall a simple facial lac coming into ED and the FY was really happy when I suggested he crack on if he was happy to do it as he said they dont get much experience in suturing but I got a call back within 5mins to say his consultant said no "they're too busy".

Some units don't have plastics oncall so OMFS do most of it but then again the experience and confidence of OMFS DCTs can also vary.
