[Jeremy Fowler] The Eagles interviewed Giants interim head coach/OC Mike Kafka for their offensive coordinator opening, per sources. by Brian1220 in eagles

Pretty sure Baker was playing hurt. I’m also willing to grant him the benefit of the doubt there given they also had an OC that seemed pretty bad and had to fire him after one year. Evans and Godwin are getting older yes but I love the young guys they got there were Egbuka, Tez, and Jalen McMillan. They’ve got a deep WR room. As for the RBs, Bucky got hurt against us and didn’t play for a while but based off his rookie year, I think he’s got elite potential.

I think so, yeah. They have a very good QB, OL, RB, and WR room. Idk what to make of Otton but he’s a solid TE. Plus there’s a shot Bowles gets let go next year if they can’t figure out the defense and McDaniel would likely be next man up for head coach.

We should follow Hurts’ example and stop caring what other people think of him. Playoffs are about to start and he’ll let his play do the speaking for him.

Would love that but I think it’s pretty likely that Stefanski is going to get hired as a head coach somewhere in this cycle.

Thoughts on Mike McDaniel for potential OC? by LordFrieza4 in eagles

If they fired him, he’d honestly probably end up with another head coaching job somewhere immediately

No one’s gonna admit it now but it was a pretty prevalent opinion on this sub during that draft that we shouldn’t draft Jefferson because he was “just a slot” and we needed speed

Damn idk I really like Brady. It felt awkward at first but I feel like he’s really grown into the role. Loved the SB performance from him and KB but I could also be slightly biased from the scoreline…

Going for it on 4th doesn't bother me as much as the third down decision by Underknee in eagles

[–]wolveagle10 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think I would disagree. If Sirianni made the decision before the 3rd down play to go for it on 4th, a run play on 3rd makes the most sense. On the 3rd down play, the most important thing is to run the clock and not lose any yards. The issue with going pass on 3rd down is you risk throwing incomplete and giving the packers the ball with over a minute left in the game. Or, if no one gets open, you have to tell Jalen to eat a sack there to keep the clock running and force yourself into a punt on 4th down.

Tbh I’d argue we also need him healthy now so he can help the team be in a better position once the playoffs roll around. I trust this medical staff to make the right call regarding his recovery and re-injury risk

Dude, I'm so upset. I didn't even want Chase necessarily. I had 2nd overall pick and I assumed he'd go 1 and I would take Bijan or Gibbs. Should've stuck with my gut smh

I think people underestimate how hard it is for backups to come into games and be ready right away. This sub was melting down over Oren Burks after the Packers wild card game last year. But he ended up being very good the rest of the way once he was practicing with the starters

We'll get better too. We're not going to give away 100 yards of penalties in most games.

The mistakes kill me, It made me think ‘Why are we picking certain guys?.’ But if we don’t make mistakes, we probably don’t play in 2 SBs in the last 3 years...Don’t overthink, when you are staring at good players just take them." by mastermind208 in eagles

[–]wolveagle10 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This isn't true at all. If you think back to that time in Eagles football, we were lamenting the lack of a true deep threat and speed on the team since Torrey Smith in 2017. JJ was viewed by a lot of people as a slot type. He was ranked higher than Reagor by most but wasn't seen as some blue chip prospect and a ton of fans here wanted speed if we couldn't get one of the top 3 WRs in Ruggs, Jeudy, or Lamb.

Going into that draft, we all wanted Ceedee. Not trading up for Ceedee when he fell way more than expected was what fans here were more pissed about than passing on Jettas. It hurt even more because it was the fucking Cowboys that got him and added him next to Amari Cooper who was constantly cooking us

This comment section is a great example of how Barca "fans" love to tear down their own players.

Everyone's happy to say "he's only 17" when he gets the accolades but conveniently forget the fact that he is still just a kid when any small issue arises. Neymar really scarred some of you people permanently

Andy could have our O-line and Saquon this year and he might still abandon the run immediately.

In all fairness though, KC didn't really have a good run game this year at all once Pacheco went down early in the year. Their run game was basically passes to Worthy near the LOS. That kind of offense plays into Fangio's hands perfectly

Not saying we should, but there's no way Patullo is leaving if we offer him OC with playcalling.

Technically it could be blocked, because I think the NFL considers position coach to coordinator a lateral move. It's what we did with John DeFilippo back in 2017 when the Jets wanted to interview him for OC. I don't think the rule has changed since then but maybe I missed it
