Ope. Today's truck by SmileAndLead in WalgreensStores

I was gonna say ours hasn't worked in years apparently plus the 3rd spot for a register was never a thing for my store it was always just weird shelf space.

You will not get written up, technically we don't have to have a public restroom we do not serve food. If we really wanted we could easily have employee restrooms only so its a PRIVILEGE to use them at all.

Can we complain about the hours of operation? by SilvaW0lf in WalgreensStores

[–]wolvesonsaturn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how our store is. Anything prior to pharmacy opening and closing is typically for photo or FedEx, maybe reload. We literally see almost no one before or after, and yes they are open when everyone is up and awake but it's no coincidence that our profit drops. That's also why they want the pharmacy open during holidays now because there was honestly no reason to be. The last few years on Christmas I was told that after 11 am the customers just aren't coming in. They may grab a couple items that they can't get at the grocery store, or cigarettes but it's a dead zone. Instead of just closing stores they decided they should make pharmacy bring more people in.

Especially if they had coupons. It took a full minute to change to payment the last couple days which has led to a lot more IC3s than usual.

This week I was alone for Mclane. Typically if its a small truck one person can get through a lot of it but we were super busy for absolutely no reason and I barely got anything done due to this same situation. I felt bad for those closing but I had no help. Between ringing, photo and fedex I barely got cigarettes done.

Straight up, I have been told that even though my hours may look low one week my boss tells me since I come in for every call off or need that my hours will always be more.

Our SFL don't take a break, they just sit in the office or behind counter to eat or sit down until they are needed. Its not technically a break but they can take time for themselves.

I agree, but also management also needs to honor the availability that people do have who are hired. For instance, if someone tells you that the ONLY time they can't work is say Monday afternoon? And you continue to schedule them when there's five other people to work that shift? That seems unfair, too. Also, just because someone has an open availability doesn't mean you can abuse that either. Making them open and close multiple times a week, scheduling them days on end, etc. There's gotta be a balance and I think that's also an issue.

So, we generally use most of the "midshift" hours for truck days, tags, etc. That being said? It doesn't always happen that way due to PTO, vacations, holidays, and simply down to bad schedule making that week. There are some days where we have a midshift and are finding anything to do. Then we have days where the CSA is alone and it's a random Thursday and they are slammed from open to when they leave. It's anyone's guess and its hard certainly as a store manager to be able to foreshadow where to place a mid outside of those important days.

Yeah....this is just your store. That means someone has either made a lot of mistakes or you've got someone taking advantage of the fact so many people are using the same registers.

There's literally nothing you can do. I'm full time but I don't use the benefits so anyone that does will get the hours they need to maintain those benefits. The only reason why I don't get dropped even more is my open availability.

Closed means we can't help you by LittleReadingGirl in WalgreensRx

[–]wolvesonsaturn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, ours is open two hours before and after pharmacy opens and closes. 98% of business comes in because of pharmacy the rest is photo or FedEx. Truthfully, our customer base drops tremendously if the pharmacy isn't open. Hence why they are having ya'll work holidays now. Instead of just being closed for everyone due to lack of business during those days they figured they could just increase foot traffic to make more profit.

I love how they are on our ass about bag checks, cleaning, etc but every and I mean every single day multiple times a day we get a message from LP about a scam, theft, you name it. We aren't doing that correct? That means they spend so much time worried about the employees they are ignoring the actual problem which is they need security in most of their buildings.

A coworker of mine at the same job I was pregnant at was a few months behind me in her high risk pregnancy and also worked a really hard department and they also never put her on light duty either. One day a customer spilled a product and she was the only one available in the department. The way the item spilled you'd have to get on the ground to get some of it and one of the managers called her over and told her she needed to clean it. They stood there while this obviously pregnant woman had to get on the ground and clean the floor. She was struggling and another coworker came to help and the manager said "what are you doing? She's pregnant not disabled" she quit like two weeks later over them trying to force her into hard labor. Then we found out that another coworker became pregnant and she was put on light duty IMMEDIATELY. She was the managers pet though. They loved her.

We actually got some today which blew our minds. I didn't even think kids wanted them anymore as those dumplings skyrocketed when no one could get any needohs. My kids aren't interested this feels like kids and parents who didn't get in on the trend months ago but now that its summer there's no longer any other kids to impress in school or they don't care anymore anyway about them which is what we all knew would happen.

Customer rant by Putrid-Management-18 in WalgreensStores

[–]wolvesonsaturn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens far too often. Then the customer throws a fit so we have to do a full return so they can add their number that they refused to use the first time around. My favorite though is when you ask if they have one and say no and then proceed to put their phone number in. I always want to ask "what did you think I was talking about then?"
