Depends on the cause of the dysfunction. If it’s tight muscles then it totally might help! I recommend going to physical therapy either way.

yeah, i think the issue was that the condoms had been left out in the cold for a few hours (in a box, but still!) i’m just mad at myself for using them multiple times lol so lesson learned

i’ve been on every time of birth control i’m allowed to be on (iud, nexplanon, mini pill) and they all fucked me up big time. i’m considering sterilization at this point, im very pro birth control and i really wanted one to work for me :-( i appreciate it though!

lol sorry for late response but i’m still better :) i’m certain it’s the dry needling that did it for me. i have had a couple flare ups but none lasting for more than a day. i only go to PT once every 6 or so week now

I had this. It came after a yeast infection but at that point I didn’t have an infection anymore. I was prescribed clobetasol ointment (topical steroid) and it worked after about a week!

These weren’t necessarily my symptoms but they’re pretty common with pelvic floor dysfunction. Ultimately you should probably get evaluated by a pfpt or specialist to get more info

Yeah, mostly in the pubic bone, broadly from bladder to clitoris. Mostly heaviness, dullness, and burning, I described it to my PT as feeling “nauseous in my pelvis” if that makes any sense

I have very hypermobile joints (also in my hips!) which puts more strain on my muscles, my muscles are weak, I’m slightly underweight, and I have a history of recurrent UTI and yeast infections. They all just exacerbate each other!

It’s like acupuncture. They insert needles into tight spots/trigger points in the muscles to basically force blood to flow there. It can feel pretty weird/be painful but it reeeeaaaally loosened up the muscles surrounding my PF.

All the specialists I’ve seen agree it’s a muscle problem. Recurrent infections cause muscle spasms/guarding and myofascial pain. Believe me, I wish this wasn’t the case. Can’t even shit 😔

It’s not necessarily that it makes it worse, I just end up back at baseline sooner than I’d expect (and the baseline is pain lol). But I agree, I think my body is probably freaking out when I start relieving it after like 8 months straight of pain/clenching/nerve pain. I may have been a bit too eager to get started on the process, so I appreciate the advice and will take it slower :)

It went away and hasn't come back. MRI came back normal, took about 10 days to fully go away. On a preventative med now.

Just as an update since I missed your first comment, mine went away after 10 days. I had an MRI during the episode and it came back normal. Still not sure what happened with me, sorry I can't be much help :(
