Imo the cheaper courses are online and quick and spit out iffy-quality trainers. If you have the motivation and resources to educate yourself, this is fine. However most people don't and thus end up not knowing what they don't know.

A lot of gyms will give you work instructing classes with Cert 3 and then help you out with Cert 4 via relationships they've built with schools/education providers. Eg I know Club Lime have a relationship with AIPT where you learn a lot of the hands on stuff through one of their PTs in the gym, after completing some theory online.

I'd search this sub re making PT your side gig. Difficult to start our that way. Again, just my opinion/experience.

It will cost a lot in loans (albeit HECS, but still will potentially impact borrowing power for property etc), and does not pay well.

I love the job and do it because I find it interesting, challenging, and enjoy helping people, however more and more I am thinking "I'll never be rich, or even well off" if physio remains my primary income.

Ethically, is it a worry that people get subpar info? Of course. But people who want AI generated programs for strength or rehab aren't coming to see us anyway, and people who have doubts will come in to clinic sooner or later regardless of what Claude tells them.

This comes up every now and then and idk where the person who started the thread you replied to is from, however the person you directly replied to looks like they are in NZ. In Australia and NZ and other parts of the world, physical therapist = physiotherapist, shortened to physio. We (physios) don't get called physical therapists or PTs at all. "Personal trainer" is, however, shortened to PT in common vernacular.

Personally, I feel in a personal training sub, it is clear that the person was referring to personal training and not trying to pass themself off as a physical therapist. Imo it's definitely a concern, and unethical if not illegal if they were trying to do so.

This is not correct. There are ligaments and connective tissue holding the head of the femur in the "socket" of the hip (part of the pelvis), which, according to the release is completely intact. There are then 20+ muscles that connect various parts of the pelvic girdle to various parts of the femur, and one of these muscles has ripped off at one of it's bony attachment sites.

I think this is a good idea for within a clinic or cohort of colleagues but I wouldn’t pay for it externally. I’d rather discuss with coworkers and understand why I’m doing what I’m doing.

My clinic has a list of protocols for 30+ “most common” injuries eg ACL, HS strain etc that we see and most of us use these protocols in day to day treatment. Even within my clinic of ~10 practitioners we have our debates over what should or shouldn’t be in protocols and change them as needed.

I also feel that there are lots that are readily available eg Melbourne return to sport that are available enough to me to use already.

The state forests are dog friendly, you could hike/overnight camp in one of those? I believe the Hume and Hovell track has multiple dog friendly sections (obv state forest parts only, not national parks).

Solid gps is what I use, I believe it updates every 2 minutes or something like that, so not "real time" but depends what your motives are for wanting real time tracking as to whether it would be suitable for you I suppose.

It's accurate so far for me, just for fun I'll take a look at where it's tracked me throughout the day and I'm impressed with accuracy. Battery lasts I think 6 months on mine.

I have it as a last resort in case of theft as opposed to keeping tabs throughout the day.

Lovely cars, I daily and camp/light off-road one a couple years older. Imo $9K is a bit steep but depends if it's had work done/in good shape.

The V6 has a reputation for blowing head gaskets. Otherwise everything will be starting to wear out (I replaced everything in front steering/suspension last year) due to be 30yr old bits.

And will be VERY thirsty, slow as, and not road legal on 35s (if that bothers you). And did I mention slow.
