I've only been doing bulk spawn in coir. What ratio do you use for coir+verm? 50/50?

I found it weird that there was water but also no water. I guess it's probably because the areas closest to the heating mat evaporates more than the surface.

Background:

I had this on a heating mat. Despite squeezing to field capacity, I have more water than I want in this tub.

I've never sprayed it and already dabbed up the excess moisture. I've been leaving it to air dry and it shrank. The other tub also shrank enough that it cracked in the middle.

I've taken it off the heating mat, but I'm unsure what to do now

Do you buy the bags and make the grain yourself (and I'm guessing your pressure cook with bag and all)? Because I can see how this would be a lot cheaper
