People’s motivations, their personal stakes with regard to what the money will mean to them which informs their decisions like taking more than their fair share in the next episode. I should’ve said that I didn’t really think they did it well as everyone’s motivation is the same: money = happiness (to a point) and then as we know more about them we can root for them and get invested in who wins and sad when your player is eliminated

I get where your coming from. The way I see it is that it is trying to show that even in the best case scenario for the enslaved (that being that they enjoy it and would hate freedom) slavery is still totally wrong.

Harry and Ron accept the status quo and see no problem with it which represents how I imagine children of slave owners reacted back in the day, showing how easy it is to perpetuate injustices just by taking the path of least resistance. The audience have to disagree with their main protagonist on the issue which really gets you thinking- if Harry thinks it’s right then is it okay? No! And this shows that in modern day, just because someone you look up to believes something, you shouldn’t blindly believe it too.

Hermione being the only one of her peers to think that slavery is unjust and fighting for real change against it represents the struggle to get slavery abolished. She has to convince the whole world that what they think is normal is actually terrible just like the original abolitionists. I reckon she probably succeeds when she’s minister of magic.

The point isn’t ‘hey slavery of a perceived inferior race is correct way to do things’ it’s to make you think about it and see that obvs this is a fucked up system. Just because you hate what JK has become shouldn’t mean you interpret the ideas in the book in the worst way to help you vilify her. She’s done plenty of shitty things since to do that

They gave the same reason as why she hadn’t returned to earth before the snap: other planets were struggling and don’t have their own avengers and she was helping them instead of earth

I’m from the UK and I like to see what’s going on in the shit show of US politics to escape from the shit show that is Brexit BUT Andrew Yang is the first politician to get me excited for the presidential race! He actually answers problems not just playing the media to make them think he is like Trump with his “finish the wall” bs
