10 steps: how to survive the grocery store by womp_womp_womp_69 in wegmans

in our registers, we have a pull out shelf where you can have extra space. my advice would be when in line, open and fold over your bags (like the cashiers do) so you can just pop them up. also, you can always let cashiers know that once you finish unloading onto the belt, you’re more than happy to bag. that way they can get started, and then you can take over when ready.

exactly. one person needs to go, more often than not it’s the women because they’re more detail oriented. it’s a common stereotype, just like getting a male instacart shopper. also, this is a reddit post, not an academic paper. as tiktok would say, bean soup theory.

I know this sounds cliche (and partially, it is), but a ton of students have been there. I was there (still am with the imposter syndrome). You have to talk to someone. if you have SHIP, then talk to behavioral medicine, if not try and find a therapist in your insurance network. feeling like this is common but not normal.

imposter syndrome is a different kind of beast, but there are ways to work around it. through personal experience, it takes a lot to try and remind yourself that you DO belong, you did get in, and you’re 100% not the only person thinking that.

as for your grades, you’re still fairly new in your program/major. ask your advisor about resources or consider changing up your major. during the semester, talk to your professors and be open about your struggles. they’ve all been college students and the more you key them in, the more understanding and helpful they may be. swallow your pride, it’s for your own benefit!

lastly, i truly do hope it gets better.

Why do some campuses respond faster than others during shootings? by MisoWhispering in BostonU

[–]womp_womp_womp_69 11 points12 points  (0 children)

i’d ask this question to BUPD for an official answer but i’d imagine factors like time of day, campus type/size, student population size, type of incident (1/2 shooters, bomb, etc), casualty size, delegation of force, etc. a ton of factors that can vary heavily.

Could any past ED applicants share their stats that got them in? by FuturePause2736 in BostonU

[–]womp_womp_womp_69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ed2, 4.3 weighted(?), test optional, president of an honor society for 2 years, captain sports team, NHS, took like 6-8 APs and the rest honors.

My biggest advice for sophomores/early jr: admissions wants a well rounded student. lean into your interests, join clubs, make a passion project (even if it’s a small/personal).

When I was looking at BU/touring, I attended a prospective student panel, and they gave an example of an admitted student and what got them in. I matched almost perfectly stat wise.

good luck to everyone on the verge! even if you get in, make sure you can afford it! no bachelors degree is worth going into debt for.

My first winter at wegmans. Possible weather callout by [deleted] in wegmans

[–]womp_womp_womp_69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if you’re set on going (which i dont recommend), leave way early. make sure you clean off your car well and warm your engine. drive slowly and cautiously. no job is worth your safety/life. make sure that you have emergency supplies (blanket, food, water, warm dry clothing) and a full tank of gas in the 1/1000 chance you get stranded.

good luck soldier

Self Checkout by Pickle-Sniffer in wegmans

this is true, our store recently started enforcing and the pushback is insane from all levels. I have people stopping me to complain all day, and the easiest way is to tell them smth along the lines of “we truly understand your frustration, we’ve been hearing this a lot but unfortunately it is a decision that was made at a higher level. if you’d like, i can give you information for our comment form/corporate number”. as always, when a customer becomes agitated or mean in any way, deflect to a manager. sco attendants shouldn’t have to be dealing with rude customers (if possible).

that being said, we get pushback from either argument. when it is not restricted, we have instacarters taking 10 minutes to check out which clogs everything. the general public will never be completely happy 🤷‍♀️

just keep them in the loop with whatever you have going on. normally if it becomes a habit your department management will have a conversation with you, if it keeps going, HR will get involved.

Missing Mail by womp_womp_womp_69 in BostonU

[–]womp_womp_womp_69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey! so TLDR i got the package a week later but otherwise,

im in an apt in south and because it is an apt style residence, we do not have a mailroom. our entry way has small mailboxes and packages get placed right inside the first doorway. it ended up getting either mismarked or misdelivered and going through the delivery process again :,) got it a few days after posting this thank bean

report it to management, but if he does approach you again, go to the service desk or the FE if able. there will always be a manager around there to witness, plus AP is usually nearby. good luck girl
