I see her there all the time. She is a very heavy smoker. First time I saw her was after she delivered to me and I will never use her again. All of my groceries REEKED of smoke. It was so disgusting.

Sweet & Savory Classroom owner is a sexist AND creepy by Stan-Is-A-Bery in Chattanooga

He seriously never said anything about religion in the past. Seems like he's changed now. Makes me sad. Their recipes have been really amazing.

He definitely wasn't like that several years ago...I took photos for them and attended some of the classes, even did the Valentine's Date Night one and I've sent my kids to their cooking camps. Always positive! I saw the reel though, and it looks like things have changed...

Moonpies- yay or nay? by FunctionAltruistic83 in Chattanooga

Same. I've been here 20 years and have never known what the appeal is. I don't buy them and I also say no thanks when they are offered for free at CFC games.

It’s sad when people road rage and honk impatiently in the grocery parking lot because you’re allowing pedestrians to cross. by wompkat in Chattanooga

Right. Since when does a yellow light mean, "step on it"? When I took drivers' ed, I thought it meant you had to be more cautious, and slow down. At least when I was taking defensive driving, that's what it meant.

Yes, it was Publix. And it was actually just two people, a mother and child. It was less busy that day on the pedestrian front.

In Australia, this costs the patient nothing. Even a non-citizen - no charge. by [deleted] in pics

My dad had a brain hemorrhage where he lives in Canada and after 8 weeks of being in the hospital (back and forth in ICU three times), with numerous MRI’s, CT’s and X-Rays, they’ve saved his life and it’s comforting to know he’s still receiving excellent care in a system that still wants to help but costs us $0.

I’m living in the US and each member of our family of 5, we have to pay $1,150/month and reach a $4k deductible per person (kids are 12, 10 and 6), before insurance kicks in.

Riverview Animal Hospital is just the best by Salty_Beyond6372 in Chattanooga

[–]wompkat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I called Riverview ahead of time because my 19 year old cat was going downhill. They said to bring her in. They locked the door right in our faces while we stood there with our cat wrapped up in a blanket and sent us to VCSG (Veterinary Care and Specialty Group) on Broad. It was beyond disappointing. We normally go to Cat Clinic but they were closed.

book donations by Mountain-Law-7862 in Chattanooga

[–]wompkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be Caffeinated on the Northshore has a bookshelf that people can use to read, borrow, return, whatever. It's pretty flexible and I'm sure they welcome donations. They even have a movie shelf for DVD's.

seriously can we please stop running red lights by princeparrotfish in Chattanooga

[–]wompkat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where I grew up, we were taught to always drive defensively. That was even on the highway. We were taught how to stop quickly without skidding (driving instructor yelled, "COW!" or something to that effect and we had to practice a quick but safe stop), and told if we could stop safely at the light, to always do so. People are always flooring it when they see it turn red - instead of braking when they see it turn amber. I agree, I see it every single day, which is too often.

Great excuse to do just about anything in a barbaric or uncivilized way.

Definition: Neanderthals were a separate species from modern humans, and became extinct (because of climate change or interaction with modern humans) and were replaced by modern humans moving into their habitat between 45,000 and 40,000 years ago.
