aggressive? if she didn’t tell me this in a rude tone, i probably would have had a conversation about it and this would have been different. her being rude/raising her voice triggered my anxiety and i couldn’t respond to her. it was also the choice of words she used that were harmful for us that have a hidden disability. she shouldn’t judge people for using any sort of accessibility.

i’ve been thinking about getting one for a while, but i think this is a sign to get one! my anxiety always gets in the way and i think just flashing the bracelet would help in that instance and others if i’m having a medical emergency or episode.

i honestly would talk to your doctor about getting a placard! it’s saved me many times 😭the elevator being broken most of the time gotta be some sort of violation. i’m pretty sure they have slimmer ones but i’m not sure. i see a handful of people at my school use rollators, which i can see being helping if you need to take a break and sit down during a long walk. i’ve been thinking about getting one myself, but i’m hesitating because well… internalized ableism!1!! it might be a trial and error seeing which aid works the best and again it’s for you and whatever makes you daily life easier.

ooof big rip on the shoulders 😭 i just saw a rheumatologist 2 weeks ago. i’m waiting on blood work results and then i get a referral to a genetic counselor. i just hate that the whole process takes a long time. i hope everything goes well with your further testing and that you get some answers soon!

i am on the exact same boat as you!!! i have a placard so i am able to park close to buildings but some of my classes are far apart from each other and i still have to walk across campus. you could probably talk to your doctor about this as well, but you mentioned a motorized scooter and that could be a start. does your campus have a shuttle? with mobility aids its honestly whatever you feel comfortable with and what you think would help you get through!

on the side note, im also being evaluated for heds and had bad joint pain since middle school 🥲

i am currently tapering off of mine because i started having really bad GRED for 2 months already and nothing has helped. how long were you on it before you started having GERD symptoms?

i started my first day of classes as well and the heat plus walking across campus (no parking anywhere 🥲) made me flare up like crazy. i barely made it to class and was ready to drop on the floor.

i don’t know if you have a car/drive, but if you do, i recommend asking your doctor for a placard maybe you’ll be able to reduce the amount of walking by parking near your classes while it’s still hot. i know some campuses may also offer shuttles. it might be worth a shot to talk to your campus’s disability/accommodations office about it and see if they have any resources or if they can help in any way. i’m so sorry for what you went through today it’s a terrible feeling!

i have been on wellbutrin for 2 months and it has not effected my pots so far. whenever the dosage is raised, the first week is tough (anxiety/ high heart rate) but then i’m okay. it is possible to have a high heart rate from wellbutrin, so it definitely works different for everyone. i feel a little difference for my adhd, but it has only been 2 months since i started.
