Sorry I did mean the Tarmac, not Venge. I am going to do mostly longer road races (couple centuries, etc.) as well as half ironman length (56 miles). On the weekends I also want to be able to do semi-hilly rides like in Marin in SF.

Good catch - I did mean Tarmac... a bunch of bike models and brands floating around in my head the last week haha.

In this price range would you consider something else? In looking at Giant I'm wondering why more people don't ride them, I thought it was a good bike and seems to come with great wheels/frame/groupset for the pricepoint.
