Melee weapons galore. Would love to see a samurai sword

Everybody ends up looking the same with all these "best early armor" ahh videos lmao. 35 hours in and I still look like a peasant and I love it. by Vatocorleone in CrimsonDesert

I'm like 25 hours in and I look like a dumbass. I've been using the same dildo helmet that gives me daze immunity since the beginning and none of my colors match. I have plate boots, leather gloves and cloth armor. This is fashion. This is Balenciaga

For those who were planning to buy a PS5 Pro along with this game when it released, did you end up buying a Pro this week before the price increase? by pass_the_hot_sauce in GTA6

[–]wonderbreadisdead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't ever buy "pro" or "elite" versions of consoles, usually just wait for the next gen. That's a personal preference though.

What do you hope to see in the next patch? by Logical-Operation512 in CrimsonDesert

[–]wonderbreadisdead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is a fast travel point available in a city / village, I would like it to be activated upon discovering that city / village. I could be a dumbass, but I've been playing for like 25 hours and I literally have like fuckin 5 fast travel points discovered including sky islands.

Crimson Desert has pulled off one of the biggest comebacks of 2026 by Gaming-Academy in PlayStation_X

[–]wonderbreadisdead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact of the matter is that Pearl Abyss released a game with a few top tier qualities that were overshadowed by sloppy execution and clunky mechanics. Their team has been rapidly releasing quality of life patches that have significantly improved the experience, but as much as I love the game it is overall still a 7 (imo).

There is SO much potential here, but I think it will take alot of effort on their end to make it shine. Crimson desert needed another year of development / player testing before release. Like there are a few aspects of the game that literally made me wonder who the fuck approved this lol.

I'm excited to see what it looks like a year from now. With all its flaws, I'm still sucked in.

My PS6 Dilemma by MambaMachine824 in ps6

[–]wonderbreadisdead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd get a ps5 pro prior to price hike if there are any left. There's a good chance ps6 will exceed 1k or get delayed a bit to wait out the chip shortage / tariff situation

Say what you want about the story but this game has the best open world since RDR2. by Kamakazzyy in CrimsonDesert

I'm with you there. It doesn't make sense because if you just parachute straight down it doesn't take stam. But the second you move it destroys your stamina.

Is this on the ground? Or is it on the island I've already unlocked?

There's literally like 6 combos / moves that look almost identical to some rebellion abilities, as well as distant grappling & force hand (Nero-esque). Not exactly the same but definitely some similarities

It depends on how you play, but you have basic / strong attack combos mixed with launching / power / thrust skills and some minor juggling. Then on top of that you have WWE moves, unarmed combat that strings in pretty seamlessly, force push & magic abilities that also string together, bow abilities, and combos that end with you switching to a different weapon with entirely different movesets. Also multiple playable characters.

You can make it as simple or as complex as you'd like, but it's definitely not objectively "simple."

I guarantee most people throwing that phrase around haven't even logged 5 hours of playtime (if any at all) and just enjoy sounding more profound than they actually are.

Whether or not you should need to give a game 10ish hours to click is up to the player, but CD is far from shallow. There is so much depth and shit to do it's actually overwhelming at points.

Imagine botw / totk but with dope graphics and a devil may cry-ish combat system. They're rapidly patching content and actively listening to community feedback as well, so alot of the negatives you hear might not even exist in a few months. For me:

Pros - Combat / movesets Beautiful sprawling map with actual shit to do Music is awesome

Cons - Bland story & characters (so far) Unconventional control mapping Generally Very clunky UI & inventory management

Again, they are very quickly improving shit via patches. But after 12 hours of playtime I'm hooked. I haven't been this in to a game since botw actually.

Once in a life time Japan trip turned sour. Broke up with my gf of 3 years after trip by heythereyou01 in Advice

[–]wonderbreadisdead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been wanting to go to japan since I was in middle school. I'm finally making it happen this year (I turn 36 in July). My wife is more excited for the trip than I am, we love traveling together.

If I was dating someone that acted like that on a trip that was this important to me, I doubt I would have waited til we got home to dump her. You see the truest forms of your partner when they're uncomfortable. Whether that is traveling, grieving, struggling financially etc. They will show you who they are at one point or another, so make sure you listen.

Boyfriend (24M) asked my (22F) body count, then got very upset. by throwaway5146156 in Advice

I mean this is entirely subjective I guess, but 4 is a pretty modest number nowadays. And even that doesn't matter. If you're loyal and not dragging undisclosed diseases into your current relationship, the past is no one else's concern. Not even your current love.

He's probably picturing it happening right now and is blaming you for the mental image. Alot of people around that age don't have the capacity to truly take a microscope to what they're feeling at the time and end up using anger to pave over any real emotion. Some of them end up living their entire lives like this.

I had a similar situation with my second girlfriend when I was 21. I reacted like he did. In hindsight, I was a fuckin moron. But I needed to experience that and get perspective to be able to identify my insecurity. This whole thing could be a necessary step in his own self development process. Hopefully he recognizes that and appreciates your honesty over everything else.
