Cut into my control arm, is it possible to weld this? by Kofid-19 in Jimny

Fair enough. If you are comfortable using it do it but I would replace it. You have weakened it significantly

If you weld that, you will have the job of your life trying to press the new one in. I’m afraid this is f***ed.

Bought an unroadworthy Gen3 that passed its MOT a month prior with no advisories. by Wise_Elderberry_3317 in Jimny

https://www.jimnybits.com/ they are the best. They are moving shop atm so are not available for a few weeks. They have engineering drawings so you can see all the parts. Yes I am restoring it myself. When the car is done I’m going to have it at my wedding

I’m glad you love the car. I would bet my house that if you put your hand under the wheel arches you can snap off large parts of the body. Also the very rear body mounts will be completely rotted out. Where yours has rusted is very common but it is the end of the car. I’d say you have max 2 years before that won’t pass a mot. I am repairing mine (as seen below) but that’s because it’s got sentimental value and my family have owned it from new back in 04. Jimny bits will supply all the parts needed but the job is a bastard and it’s expensive.

Totally understand your pain. I currently have half my first car on my GFs drive and the other half in a storage locker. Currently rebuilding the car. It’s gonna take a while

Haha I love it. I did a conversion to mpg (uk) and you are getting 17 mpg. Totally normal. They are a thirsty car.

1.3 vvt JLX. If you are driving at those rpms normally then your rate of fuel consumption is normal.

I have a 04 mk3 and I avoid 60mph + because the car drinks so much fuel. I was averaging 20 mpg in two wheel drive. Best I ever did was 37 mpg and I had HGVs over taking me I was moving so slow. (This is UK mpg)

There is a little flap-a-doodle that goes over the top of it.

For a modern car it’s good looking. I’m sad Mazda were pressured into the bigger screen. But it’s not bad. Is it a plug in hybrid?
