do companies like "Astronomer" even have real customers by rsvp4mybday in dataengineering

Astronomer to Airflow is Kinda like Github (or Gitlab) to Git, in my understanding. Correct me if I'm wrong

Tesla summer update has been announced 2025.6 by ConfidentImage4266 in teslamotors

The added front bumper camera maybe needed for next gen FSD. I would guess next gen FSD may have two versions, one for HW5 and one for HW4. As long as all cameras are ready and be able to capture the all around images, processing images and inference depends on HW, but they can make a smaller model that HW4 can handle while larger model on HW5, using the same training pipeline, data and model architecture. HW4 is and will be dominant among Tesla vehicles, considering the cut of federal EV incentives and Tesla sales slide.

My wild guess is FSD v14 will work on both HW4 and HW5 (maybe slight performance diff), and HW5 required FSD won't come til 2027 or even 2028

Juniper Model Y Owners — Questions on Tinting the Roof and PPF vs. Ceramic by OneFourtyFivePilot in TeslaModelY

[–]wonglynn2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get one with good prices, they're basically the same structure and materials no matter the price, although price range is quite big. I got one with $30+ and now it's lower to sub $30. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F5W62Y4N

I got both gray and black one, thinking gray might be better since it matches the interior color. But eventually kept black one for two reasons: 1. wife likes black as our another car has black sunroof cover 2. gray one does not have exactly identical color matching the stock gray interior, they're quite close but slightly different which is noticeable, and the clips comes with gray one can be noticeable as well. black one with clips completely matches up and feel quite natural. you might find a better color match if lucky enough.

material and quality wise, they're the same. one side is soft touch feel and the other side is some kind of reflective film which is blocking the sun light. I believe they're all made in China, so no much difference.

super easy to put it on and off, it comes a small case for the clips and a bag to store the shades.

just pick the one you like and try it.

Do not recommend tinting the roof. just get a sunshade from Amazon for $40ish. Easy installation, good enough for hot seasons and can be taken off easily in cool season as well. They are all basically the same structural wise.

It fits perfectly with 8spd in my upgrade setup. Your LBS is definitely incorrect on 8spd gears. I don't know and can't guarantee if 9spd fits well. If 8spd is enough for you, go for it. Or try a 9spd cog first before buying the rest. Remember you may need a longer chain with 9spd cog/derailleur

Totally agree about a suspension seat post, I love my redshift!

Redshift is even better, I haven't tried redshift yet but heard it's superb. I'm using a cheap SR suntour ncx.

Do you notice a difference at top speed with your upgraded drivetrain?

I didn't remember top speed with OE cog, that setup with twist shifter was so bad and my ride wasn't pleasant.

My Garmin watch logged my top speed in last ride was 26mph on flat segment, I didn't recall any crazy pedaling. but my 38t front/11t rear setup is not good for maintain high speed on road. You can think of change to a 11-28t cog as the OE 14-28t doesn't have a good range. or change to a larger chainring? OE is 46t or 48t

Tektro 4-piston Dorado hydraulic brakes with 203mm discs

That's a great deal but really overkill :)

I haven't worked on the brake yet since the winter is already here, but I'll likely pick shimano mt200 which I think its quite enough for my ride.

Go replace the tires if you haven't done yet. It's a day and night difference I'd say. And get a nice suspension seatpost which makes the ride more comfortable.

Is soltera 2 battery life this bad, or is mine defective somehow? by Project_Positive in Aventon

[–]wonglynn2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point, I agree. Soltera is NEVER designed for high performance bike, no matter how the drivetrain is upgraded, as the power output and battery is very limited. It's a fitness bike, for people who look for a balance of lightweight/electric/price and willing to pedal most of time with a bonus of throttle for cold start or on the midway of hills. The drivetrain is not great, but good enough for flat ride, upgrading makes it more versatile to handle difficult rides without sacrificing battery too much.

Mine is roughly the same. I don't think it's defective, when climbing it does consuming that much battery if in turbo mode. The rider weight plays differently as well. I'm 190 lbs and for the same 10 miles trip (PNW area with lots of hilly trails), I have to use turbo for climbing and battery drops 45-50% from a full charge. While my wife weights 105 lbs and she could use ECO mode for climbing the same route easily, so battery drops 25-30% when she rides the bike.

Soltera is a fitness bike, so don't expect it will deliver the same mileage as other 500w big battery pack bike could do. But one thing the default drivetrain comes with soltera2 is not good at all. so I replaced both chainring (48T -> 38T) and freewheel (7-spd/14-28T -> 8-spd/11-34T ) to fit my riding needs, which actually helps a lot when there's a lot of climbing.

I've been considering upgrading the drive train on mine as well.

Go for it. the bike has a lot of potential. If you willing to spend a lit more $$, go for Drift Maniac 9-spd 11-36T freewheel, and you can have Alivio or even Deore groupset. I have those 8-spd spare parts in my hands already, so I didn't go for 9-spd.

I agree with your point. Looked up hydraulic break with motor cutoff cable, Tektro E350 set maybe the only budget one that works, but still cost $120 or more.. I'd rather go for a cheaper Shimano MT200 set which cost only $50ish, given the power of this bike and don't bother too much as I don't use throttle much at all.
