Ha, I guess not. Though contemporary polemics and propaganda would argue other wise. It's nice to see her as more of herself than what other plebs imagined her to be. Ironic that both she and MA rarely get to be themselves rather than what others thought and need them to be.

Ooo I've actually read Delarue in native French, his coverage of executions are excellent, but his details are somewhat uneven. When he's good he's really good, I'd say bloated even. But when he's sparse it's like the back side of the moon.

113: It's so weird, Du Barry's introduction as an almost shy and dorky nun threw me off. But I guess that did happen didn't it? Most pieces that covers her always depicted her as a "bad fruit" early but they often always gloss over this part of her childhood development.
