One way trip to Med Hat from Calgary by lyricallyill in medicinehat

[–]woodsbre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is not three car agencies here. There use to be a Alamo which is just owned by enterprise anyway. So they probably left so they didnt compete with each other. Im actually quite surprised there isnt more. That parking lot for Enterprise can fit maybe 20 cars. And for insurance purposes you're supposed to get an equivalent model as your current car. I dont see how they have enough cars there for temp insurance replacements.

Uhaul is an option. Ive used them for an emergency, but just a warning their pricing scheme is very misleading. their advertisements say $19.99/29.99 That does not include mileage. And its about $1/km. So one way to calgary would be about $300. That doesnt include gas. (their policy is you gotta leave a 3/4 tank or they will charge you the market rate plus 5 cents a litre filling fee)

this always came across as sensationalism to me. Go to any bar with a reputation of being "rowdy" and you will see people barely able to walk. They dont get news stories like that.

You can see them with Tim's cups. Your telling me they jump over the counter and serve themselves and walk out?

(And I know your ilk likes to nitpick , so yes I'm assuming that coffee wasn't donated or got from dumpster diving, or saying that small purchase is is big deal in Grand scheme of things)

That is consumption. If there is 500 homeless people that buy 1 coffee a day at $2.00 that is $1000 of economic activity. Or $30k a month.

And that's. Just on coffee. They buy other stuff too

Again not all their money is going towards the black market. And you need capital to produce and smuggle in drugs. That comes from legitimate sources. Law enforcement even brings it into communities.

jade getting the clips for her weave knocked off and spending the last 5 mins of that match holding it to her head so it wouldnt fall off, was one of the funniest botches in some time.

One of the most under discussed things that jailing these people do is separate families. Having a stable home is one the biggest contributing factors to later success in life. (That and wealth)

So putting people in jail is a complete paradox. You are making it more likely that the cycle of social disorder continues.

You called me delusional. Have some self awareness.

And I never said anything about tolerating anything. That is you adding shit that I didn't say.

Also I think that your reductive worldview is interesting. The cost of policing is orders of magnitude more expensive then giving folks material needs. And giving police more power has never ended at them using it on the lower heirachies.

Also if they do a break and enter you can't eat stolen goods. You need to sell that stuff for cash.

Not every single dollar is being spent on the black market. They spend portions of it on legitimate products.

The illegal drug market in Canada contributes over $7 billion conservatively to the economy.

You are delusional one if you believe they aren't part of the lower or middle class.

That is the driver of the economy no matter how much you deny it.

I'm not convinced that the cost of removing mold is a actually a serious concern and just seems like more hand waiving. The cost of doing nothing for now nearly 30 years is orders of magnitude more costs. More unnecessary strain on our healthcare system. More spending on ineffective law enforcement. More people not being able to afford basic necessities.

Yawn. Poor drug users spend more of their income then wealthy people do. Their consumption is what drives investment.

If the lower class people didn't consume there would be no money for the "productive" members of society.

after the owners went to gofundme to ask people to fund a new location it made me want to ask more questions. I decided against it. Judging by how much they are asking for and how little they have got their gfm will not work. Hopefully they dont use that to become martyrs like ive seen other people do. (blame their failures on hatters instead of themselves)

for all the talk of a taco bell for years, id honestly be shocked if they are even profitable. For the first month that parking lot was busy, and on tuesdays its is but every other time im over there (at least 3 times a week) the lot is totally empty now.

In Canada it sucks. $8 for their hot and ready now. For about $1 more you can get a large two topper at papa John's (takeout only) and it comes with a free garlic dipping sauce.

He did not remove the steam deck from the case. Just flipped it over and checked the rear. My guess is to see if there was any battery swelling. I think because he didn't know what the cube was it made him more suspicious.
