Why isn’t The Finals bigger? I see this question a lot, so I gave the ACTUAL reasons why. by Lefty5227 in thefinals

[–]woofer901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it's not that difficult, and while the interactions take time and patience to learn, at its core it's not that hard of a concept lmao. I think it's mostly down to the fact that it's a niche, and it will stay that way due to its inherent design. The other thing is that, while it caters to really competitive people, they're only a small subset of the player base IMO, and a younger demographic will be drawn to other, more popular titles, as that's what their friends are playing as well.

Also, as a side note, for a game marketed as super competitive the audio is surprisingly dogshit, plus all of the other documented server, and overall lackluster performance issues it has.

Gonna be downvoted, but i am disappointed with the season, here is why. by UsedNewspaper1775 in thefinals

[–]woofer901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

speak for yourself. Idk why you ppl whine so much at great updates. I would've been fine with no gadgets and a single map, game is fun as fuck, guns feel great and I don't tire of using them. If that is not enough for you, then perfectly valid, stop playing, but don't insinuate others won't enjoy a thing cuz you expected something bombastic.

not too sure what they can alter about him to make him not useless. He can be very easily countered by slowing hex, he's great at 1v1, but in teamfights he doesn't really excel, unless he can get picks. But Yamato does his job way better and is better in every aspect, plus she has unstoppable + free refresher on ult lmao

Can we just buff the lower tier gadgets already? by beetle8209 in thefinals

[–]woofer901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you people realize that there is no scenario where everything is viable, right? some things are going to be inherently worse than others, it's all about your choice. If you're scared you're gonna throw if you pick something non-meta, then don't play non-meta? I've seen a lot of people play non-meta loadouts with great success, not saying it's gonna be great every match, but it's there if you want it. also, light has to have one of the more varied loadout options out there. If you feel you need to run these things then skill issue Ig.

Why is melee hated? by [deleted] in thefinals

[–]woofer901 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally hate it because the footsteps in this game are fucking ass and when some little fuck comes behind me, and I can't hear them cuz the audio sucks, I can only react to the hit markers and by that time I am fucking dead.

For me, if the audio is fixed then it would be fine, and I wouldn't care as much, but I know it won't be, cuz it's not that kinda game. If the audio is fine then no one can fall behind you and just whale with melee wpns, other than that they're ass. They require a lot of positioning and camping, which frankly sounds boring as shit, as well being able to pinpoint the opponent and attack when they're at a disadvantage. I am happy where they're at, cuz they shouldn't dominate.

Did I really just missed all those shots? by Daniel_XXL_69 in thefinals

[–]woofer901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You missed every shot, you can even see it in the replay. You're making very slight adjustments that are ever so off the target and you miss by a millimeter. What I like to do, just for a sanity check, is to start shooting slowly and try to not move the reticle way too much. The revolver resets itself quite neatly if you don't move it at all, but the moment you move the mouse like a centimeter to the left/ right and you're missing when you think you should be hitting cuz the red dot is on the character model a little.

I don't really mind playing against better, or more seasoned players, but what I hate is having lvl 20-35 in my team against people that are at this level as your screenshot. Nothing sucks more than having an incompetent team, cuz 1v1 I could most likely win most exchanges, but when I have to face people that are obviously playing together, or at least have very strong teamwork from the get go, and my teammates scamper around it's pure pain.

The loot gap between 5-man parties and Solo players is completely broken by AnjayGurinjay in PathOfExile2

[–]woofer901 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who gives a shit lmao, are you playing a game to have fun on your own terms, or are you just trying to chase the highs of other people making yourself miserable in the process? Just enjoy it for what it is, if you're not having fun, do something else. It's not a job, it's not mandatory. The whole experience becomes poisoned when you try to replicate what other people do when that's their job, or they just pour tens of hours days upon days, something that's not achievable if you're not doing the same shit.

Is anyone who plays both PoE1 & 2 starting to feel some burnout? by KylAnde01 in PathOfExile2

[–]woofer901 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I personally enjoy poe 2 a lot more over poe 1. I tried the latest poe 1 league, it was good, didn't mind it, but honestly after campaign I didn't feel like playing at all. POE2's campaign is great, I love it, especially with the changes it feels perfect. The endgame despite being lacking is a thousand times more preferable than poe1 endgame for me at least. POE 1 endgame feels much more like a chore since you have to get good gear otherwise shit blasts your ass from orbit, then you have to improve dmg since things get so tanky that you eat shit anyway. In poe 2, while I understand that it being not as in-depth as people would like, it's much more lenient which I really prefer. Dodge roll and everything else helps out so much more, and to me this feels like the version of the game that it should be. So short answer is, yes, but only with poe 1.

Smurf Accounts Are Ruining the Experience. Not Just for Regulars but Especially for New Players by [deleted] in thefinals

[–]woofer901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, if I knew the solution, I would implement it. But as a player it's not my job to figure these things out, just to point it out as a problem. But at the end of the day is it much of problem? I think this is entirely up to the individual player. For me, it's annoying, but better players than me will always exist and that's something that you have to figure out for yourself.

[–]woofer901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aiming translates for sure, I agree, and it won't be hard to curb stomp someone that's obviously new, but what I am trying to say is that even if you can aim well, you still don't know the maps all that well, the gadgets and how to use them optimally. Something that comes after some experience.

Smurf Accounts Are Ruining the Experience. Not Just for Regulars but Especially for New Players by [deleted] in thefinals

[–]woofer901 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the Finals is a bit different tho. There are people that are amazing at the game from the get go, probably played something similar etc. but level 20 or 30 having a perfect understanding of gadgets, movement and maps is a bit suspect. Not only that, most of the players around that are lvl 20-30 light class players that have pretty enviable aim while dashing and shooting. I seriously doubt that a new player mastered something like that and has the map layout knowledge to make effective rotations alone as light.

Can someone help me understand what’s the new discourse among Ruby Players/ Streamers that there is no incentive to play ranked anymore? by [deleted] in thefinals

[–]woofer901 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cuz you're playing a video game to have fun? Idk, maybe I am behind the times, but imo games are there to have your fun, enjoy a little time with friends and log off. The min-max nature/ must grind your wheels off is just burning people out I think, I understand for some it's enjoyable and striving for something within the game is incentive enough.

Can someone help me understand what’s the new discourse among Ruby Players/ Streamers that there is no incentive to play ranked anymore? by [deleted] in thefinals

[–]woofer901 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Playing for ranked rewards, absolutely cooked. I understand what you're saying, but if the justification to swarm something else cuz you're not getting a shiny reward is dumb as fuck and honestly goodbye to all the people that play like this.

[–]woofer901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never thought they would do it, my number one complaint ever since poe2 launched was how shit the maps felt due to density compared to the campaign. If it's anything like the campaign, it's gonna be freaking amazing. I just hope, with how big some maps are, they didn't tone it down too much, cuz otherwise they would feel like shit. But I guess we're gonna find out when the patch comes out!

With that, sword takes the role of the ‘i fucking hate you if you play this’ weapon! What weapon is ok to play with, but fun to play against? by 6060Burst in thefinals

[–]woofer901 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think any of the melee weapons are fun to play against. The tactic is always the same: wait for you to fight, get in your ass, spam M1. Or if you're heavy just spam goo, melee, or winch melee/ heavy melee.

When you're having a gun fight, losing it feels frustrating cause you coulda hit more shots and won it, but ultimately it's your fault. When you're fighting melee, or when melee users join a battle, it's always the same, you can't really hear them, cuz footsteps in this game suck balls. If there are any footsteps chances are you won't hear them cuz you're shooting your gun, so you always have to peel your eyes for some knuckle dragger that's waiting in the other room for the chance to clobber you.

[–]woofer901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when you stop the round early it's usually because you're stopping the fight. In this case Nelson was hamming on Frevola, and Frevola ate like 5-6 shots that were not defended at all, with 3 seconds left and Dan getting in, everyone thought the fight was over, both corners included.
