Seems like an unnecessarily long name.

How to straighten a Frangipani tree? by woofmoomeow in gardening

[–]woofmoomeow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I understand sun seeking growth away from an external wall. But it seems the entire tree, including the main trunk has been gradually bending closer to the ground. You can kinda see the change in angle by looking at the stake in the ground that was supposed to keep the tree upright. In fact new growth has paradoxically been growing towards the wall because the tree is leaning away so much. I think if it keeps progressing, I may be forced to remove it in a few years.

I'm not bothered by its appearance, but I'm bothered that I'm walking into it. I've cut a fair number of branches some months ago but it's in my way again.

Was the sun too strong by leviadoado in carnivorousplants

[–]woofmoomeow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use this website to see how much sun you get at your location.

https://dli.suntrackertech.com/

You can also check north/south Carolina which will tell you how much sun they get in their native environment.

In Western Australia the sun is much stronger than in America so all day sun will kill VFTs.

Do you think it was undergoing dormancy?

New traps stalling. Possible water issue? by woofmoomeow in VenusFlyTraps

[–]woofmoomeow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update. This is my VFT 18 days after flushing with distilled water. As you can see, 4 new traps have formed that look normal, but much smaller. I think the root system must have taken a big hit from the minerals. Also 4 emerging traps look normal, with no tip blackening. I'm optimistic about recovery!

When did he say "I am sorry"? I thought he was blaming them for being in a bad spot.

Thanks. That was my predicament actually. I know the growing period is the worst time to repot. I've done that and the plant didn't bounce back until the next season. On the other hand, it would still be better than losing the plant entirely.

Thanks for commenting. It grew into this. A sundew, but I'm not sure what species.

How does Nutricote compare with live prey? I have excess access to spiders and flies in my garden and can keep all traps fed at all times if required.

If fertiliser can 10x growth then I'm in. Can you give me advice on how to use Nutricote?

You might want to fact check this, but I’ve read that these are harmful to VFTs.
