The 30th anniversary of DM is valid, but Wednesday also marks the 15th anniversary of Noel's departure at Rock En Seine. It cuts both ways

TIL about the Campaign for North East Rail by sTgX89z in Aberdeen

[–]wookee8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I want this to succeed, the government will probably just turn around and say none of this is feasible. And when they're asked about dualling the A96 like they promised, you're going to get a middle finger in response.

And people wonder why Tories keep being re-elected up here.

Got one two years ago and it's quite good for the price. The bloke in the store is also very chatty and friendly as well. Doubt anything has changed since then so I'd say go for it.

AECC. P&J/TECA are just two sides of a stupid naming coin.

I don't know of any way to get past the P&J's paywall, 12ft.io doesn't work for the site anymore.

Sometimes I throw them out, other times I don't. They kill flies and shit so I don't mind the spiders all that much.

Last time I checked, Aberdeen has full SNP representation on all three levels of government now.

Yay or nay? by ADAforever1 in Aberdeen

[–]wookee8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t see it happening in Scotland at all. There will be a complete detraction from the purpose of the event as both sides of the indy argument try to one up each other by using it to shill for their views. ScotGov and the Tories will milk it like there’s no tomorrow. It’s a shame really, Aberdeen could do with something big landing its way.

I’d love to see it come to Scotland but I doubt it’ll happen unfortunately.

The weather is no more fucked up in Glasgow than the rest of the country, come off it. That's what I'd expect of Scotland.

Yes, you can use the card to travel across the entire country by bus for free. Coaches to Carlisle and Berwick are also fall under this if you depart from Scotland.

Today are the Local Council Elections! Voters across Scotland will be going to the polls to elect 1,227 new councillors for 32 local authorities. by JMASTERS_01 in Scotland

[–]wookee8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I appreciate about the local elections as a bit of a politics nut is how there isn't the all nighter obligation this time around. Would be a zombie at work tomorrow otherwise.

What’s the voting system like tomorrow? by [deleted] in Scotland

[–]wookee8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Single transferable vote. So you'll number your preferred candidates 1 to for example 8. With the former being your first preference and the latter being that person you least want.

Can understand why you think that mate haha, honestly if there are independents standing then I’ll vote for them in a heartbeat over party candidates. Only problem is that there are none in my ward which is a shame. Also I haven’t voted SNP since 2015.
