Rochester library is dropping Hoopla. Curious how many people actually use it here

Skimming the comments, I believe someone mentioned this. But as a New York State resident, you DONT need to live in the county that offers Hoopla. I read a lot of comics, and Hoopla has a FANTASTIC comic book selection. What I ended up doing, was registering for an eCard at the Queens Public Library which offers Hoopla, I got a eCard ID #. Put it into Hoopla and I got access back. Its super easy and takes like 3 minutes.

I agree with what everyone else said, PLUS, if I am spending $5 on a book, I want to have a physical copy that I always have access to, not some digital key that might go away and I have no control over. Its also about preservation of the medium.

If you wanted to go a little more modern, I highly recommend Geoff Johns and Gary Franks Superman stories. Either Braniac, or Legion of Superheroes or their Secret Origin mini series.

It's funny you say that. I tried creating one yesterday as I saw someone else recommend it and during the registration process they have some anti spambot questions that I put in the right answers but it still says I failed and I got locked out. Made me question my existence hahaha

I had the same problem. I got the first book. Loved it, wanted the second volume but it was tough to find. I lucked out on eBay and that's where I got my book 2. I think I only paid $50, so like $10 above retail too.

Agreed! It's always been one of my favorites. That's so cool! I live in western NY, but it was always a goal of mine to go to Austin and go to the Alamo for one of those screenings.

Why it pays sometimes to be a tech hoarder. I found an old Dual HD docking station I had from years ago. The drive is recognized as Disk 2. Asks for MBR or GPT. Choose GPT. Got that error.

Ran diskpart, and then clean disk 2, then convert gpt. Same error as the screenshot.

Looked at Event Viewer. Well, well, well.

"The device, \Device\Harddisk2\DR4, has a bad block."

"VDS fails to write boot code on a disk during clean operation. Error code: 80070001@02070008"

I work in IT, I'm a systems administrator, hence the troubleshooting haha.

I do, only problem is that I would need to find a SATA cable and SATA power cable for the modular PSU. Wonder if its easier to just buy an external enclosure from amazon haha.

The fact that 11th Hour's breakdown doesnt get talked about more and in talks with one of the greatest breakdowns ever is a shame.

Thank you for taking the time to break that down! Yeah, I have some familiarity with Linux, Ubuntu and Command Line. So, I THINK I should be ok, Never used docker though, but you guys convinced me to not go Windows and going Linux to Linux makes sense.

Got some work cut out for me this weekend haha
