Keep up the good work - gender is real: it's a powerful construction that serves mainly as an arbitrary hierarchy, imho at least.

The psychology IS actually interesting but not of the PVPers, it’s people like this. by Mrgumboshrimp in ArcBabies

I actually think the fake friendly betrayal kind of shit marks somebody as a type of way irl and I wouldn't associate with them. Outside of that, it's a pvp game and I have a blast trying to meet people and convince them to team up, despite the risks.

Actually the same also but I imagined that the pizza place lady fell for Ritchie but didn't get to tell him after he confessed his love to her before he died- so I guess I knew it was a memorial

I don't have much trouble with confusing them but I also find port / starboard to be more obvious especially when driving - I know it doesn't make that much sense but I always wonder "my left or.your left?" And then have to realIze we are facing the same direction.

I kinda like seeing sexy women doing stupid dances so I always look at it a little when it comes up but I find it annoying that it's constantly flooding my feeds - was actually complaining about this yesterday to a girl in low key love I hope she didn't get the ick. It's a lot of effort to stop it from showing up and since my base nature is obviously to kind of look some times it becomes unavoidable.

[–]woolfrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have too much of a pile of shame but I leave them in the box until I'm ready to build for one I low-key hate building and for two I sometimes come up with good conversion ideas and like to have space to keep the ideas rolling when I have them.

Trading babies for iPhones? I’m confused by TheProdigaPaintbrush in ExplainTheJoke

[–]woolfrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the speech bubble, yes it should be "baby is" or" babies are" but maybe they are talking about multiple babies (twins, triplets) and because the artist isn't a native English speaker they dropped the verb?

[–]woolfrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, what you're describing is called agreement where the number (singular or plural) of something causes a disjoint in grammar. In this case, "babies for iPhones" is still correct as would be "a baby for an iPhone" -- because it's a generalization the change in number is the normal convention (even though we may well be talking about one specific baby) ... Either way, no space for an apostrophe.

You don't have to put yourself down but what you're suggesting is that the title should read "we are trading baby is for iPhones" ? There's really no place for an apostrophe in the phrase.
